The World Is Opening Up Into A Pre-Alpha For Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening — Pre-Alpha Teaser

A new look at Dune: Awakening is here to give us an early look at how this part of Dune is getting adapted into an MMO

The other of the titles in the Dune finally has something substantial to look at out of The Game Awards recently. This one would be the MMO, Dune: Awakening, that we had teased a while back from Funcom. There was not much in the way before now beyond it all taking place in the universe of the films and books, but now we have a small taste of what is to come. As long as you expect to see anything from a pre-alpha state of the game to make it all the way through. I do not usually expect that, but we do have something new to look at for Dune: Awakening, so we can just focus on that. If anything, it will help us get a better idea of what the final vision could be when it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in its full form.

What we have here is a very basic run through much of the action side of Dune: Awakening that we might be able to experience out there. If we look at the IP in general, it does feel like they are nailing the look and feel from the more recent films out there. I have a feeling we will see some Easter Eggs out there for the classic versions and everything, but not here. If I did not know better, though, I would see Dune: Awakening as more of an action title than an MMO out there. At least as in the traditional look and feel for it all. They could be holding off on showing the true grind of things for later or this is going to be an action-heavy version of the IP that would help set things drastically apart from the other games out there. As long as it all carries over to the final build and is not lost after the pre-alpha stage is done.

Dune: Awakening — Pre-Alpha Teaser

Witness the epic scale of Dune: Awakening, an Open World Survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert’s sci-fi masterpiece and the award-winning blockbuster film by Dennis Villeneuve. Ascend from searching for water and building shelters against storms to controlling the flow of spice in the top echelons of Arrakis.

Do you have any new thoughts on Dune: Awakening after seeing what we have here or will you still be holding off judgment until later down the line? Will this MMO have the usual grind in the mix or will it try to stick to all of the action more than anything out there? Do you want to see some touches from the older versions of the IP out there and not just things from the books? Go ahead and let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. When there is anything more to share for Dune: Awakening, know it will all be on the site here for you. Please keep a close eye on the site for all of that and everything else that we can offer up.
