Things are getting further enhanced in Conan Exiles, with a new & free version launching with Conan Exiles Enhanced
It is crazy to think that it has been eight years since Conan Exiles landed out there, but it has. A fun little title that took the IP further and allowed Funcom to offer us all a survival game in this fantasy setting. Even though it had some rough edges when it dropped, and a lot of silliness that came out of those years, they stuck with it and kept the title going. A nice little way to show how it can also be a survival game in the real world. All of that said, it looks as if the fun does not stop there, as we now have a launch for a new version of the game. On May 8th, for the PC, Conan Exiles Enhanced will be there for all to experience and see how the time and effort have been pushed to bring this one into a modern gaming state. The best part is that it is free for those who have been enjoying the game up to now.
The largest part of this update for Conan Exiles Enhanced all boils down to the teams using the Unreal 5 Engine to rebuild the game, and to give it a visual boost after all of this time. That will be the bulk of the changes that you will be able to see, with characters, lighting, and other effects looking just so much crisper. Not to mention that the game will be able to run at 60+ FPS with better resolutions now. A nice little feat and bonus with the other massive change being that the Isle of Siptah expansion will flow in as one massive experience without the loading. You will still need to make that purchase outside of Conan Exiles, if you have not already, but once you do, it will all feel seamless as you move about, build, and survive this harsh world out there. This massive upgrade is free to all current and future owners on Steam and marks a new chapter for Conan Exiles, delivering the most significant visual and technical overhaul in the game’s eight‑year history.
Launching just days before the game’s 8‑year anniversary on May 8th, Conan Exiles Enhanced is a gift to the millions of players who have shaped the world of Conan since 2018.
A Modernized Conan Exiles Experience
Conan Exiles Enhanced brings the entire game into Unreal Engine 5, unifying eight years of post‑launch content into a dramatically upgraded experience. Players will immediately notice:
- Significantly improved visuals across environments, characters, lighting, and effects
- Connecting The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah (a separate purchase) into or one single immersive experience
- Enhanced performance, targeting 60+ FPS across Low, Medium, High, and Ultra settings on most PCs
- Strong Steam Deck performance, ensuring smooth survival on the go
- And other improvements and quality of life additions
- New and improved UI
This upgrade is available free of charge to all existing Steam owners of Conan Exiles.
