Tekken 8 Brings Back Our Mechanized Space Ninja With Yoshimitsu

Tekken 8 — Yoshimitsu Gameplay

The latest character for Tekken 8 is here and it is one of the best from the Tekken IP of all time

I was starting to worry that Tekken 8 might not have one of the staple characters we have seen in the game since its incarnation out there. A character that felt like it was a bit of a troll and brought some extra weirdness to the IP and it looks as if Bandai Namco is showing all that off again. Here we go with Yoshimitsu back in the mix of Tekken to give us all of that space ninja energy we could want on our PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2024. They said that this one needed no introduction, but I would say this would be the best one to give an introduction to…

Just as the many other characters in Tekken, we get a fast-paced look at Yoshimitsu here swinging a big sword and flipping all over the place. One thing that looks as if it is missing is the sitting and extra spinning for many of the moves Yoshimitsu would perform before. We do not really need all of that when the character looks so amazing once again and is confident enough to bring a sword to a gun or fistfight. A weird thing to say, but Tekken has never been clear on how some of these fights play out when one has a true weapon and the other is only seen as a living weapon. Have a look and see just for yourself here.

Mechanized space ninjas have no need for introductions.

Yoshimitsu is ready to slice and dice the competition in Tekken 8!

This is the one character I will always be glad to see back in a Tekken, as Yoshimitsu always hits the nostalgia for me out there. So many times I remember sitting, bouncing, or trying to trigger the dizzy animation for the character. All while getting cursed at for “repeating” the same moves over and over. Sadly, it does feel like this version of the character is not bringing any of this along in the game. Maybe Tekken 8 is trying to lean away from that and give us more of a robot than before. Gods, I hope that is not the case, but it sure feels as if it is here. More so since I am not seeing many of the other fun sword moves from before and just a lot more hacking and slashing.

Do you also have fond memories of Yoshimitsu from the past Tekken games or is this the one character you have grown to hate? Do you miss some of the funnier aspects of the character we have had or did we need to see it go a bit more serious out there? Will we ever get an explanation on how a fight just does not end when a guy with a gun shoots the other one? Head to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to offer the world out there. We should have more for Tekken 8 soon, so please keep a close eye on the site for all of those updates and the many others we will have for various other video games out there.
