The Marvel show What If…? has a new experience coming out with the announcement of Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story
If you are one of the few out there who happen to have an Apple Vision Pro, then get ready to enter some new multiverses with the announcement of Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story. A new interactive experience that ILM Immersive is working on with Marvel to give those who own the expensive hardware a taste of things to come. All while giving those same humans more of the What If…? stories that the Disney+ show was dropping on us too. A weird take to go into for all of this, but we will see if it is going to pay off or function as the following video leads us all to believe.
If you are part of those who will be able to experience Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story on May 30th, it looks like it will be using the spatial computing abilities of the Apple Vision Pro to place us further into a different set of events from the show where we have to hunt down the Infinity Stones out there. All so those other big bad villains do not get their hands on it and break really once more. So kind of like the story in the show but asking ‘What If…?’ the viewer stepped in with the powers of Wong and the mystical arts. An interesting idea and it looks like the animation team is bringing it all to life with the same look and feel. Have a look at the announcement we have for this and see if it will get you to buy in on it all soon.
Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story
What If… You Were Chosen? Step into the Multiverse and harness the power of the Infinity Stones in this reality-bending story from Marvel Studios, ILM Immersive, and Disney+.
The Multiverse is in danger and The Watcher needs your help. Dangerous variants are hunting Infinity Stones and altering the fate of not only their realities, but yours as well. To save the fate of the Multiverse, you’ll need to use your own hands to learn mystic spells, defend your allies in epic battles, and more. But, be careful… everything might not be all that it seems.
Based on Marvel Studios’ beloved animated series, this first-of-its-kind immersive story brings new and iconic worlds from the What If…? universe right to your living room. With The Watcher as your guide, you’ll be seamlessly transported between mixed and virtual reality through the spatial computing capabilities of Apple Vision Pro, such as eye and hand tracking, spatial audio, and breathtaking visuals. As you embark on your journey, you’ll be reminded that time, space, and reality are more than a linear path.
Welcome to a story with limitless possibilities.
If there is one complaint that I have heard about the Apple Vision Pro is that there just is not much to do or experience with it for the price. With the release of Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story, I do not think it is going to change that too much, but it will give another thing to do in the mix. It is odd that they opted to go with this instead of aiming for a VR setting with more gamers having access to all of that, but I am sure there is some kind of deal to us the What If…? line to get gamers and fans to spend the over $3K to get the headset they will put back down after going through all of this. A bold choice and we will just have to see how it is going to pay off and if it will get a port over to other devices. That or maybe an experience during conventions and park locations.
Are you as big of a fan of the What If…? show that you will be diving into this new experience out there? How many will actually be able to experience this and will it offer up a lot more to do after it is played once? Will this stay as a true exclusive forever or will we see them try to recoup some of the cost by expanding out the platforms down the line? Rush on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and everything else that we have on the way for all of our gaming. If we land more for Marvel Studios’ What If…? — An Immersive Story or anything else around it, we will share it to the site for you as soon as we can. Please keep on checking back for all of those updates and the many others we still have out there.
