The latest developer diary for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has been released and this one goes into just how sound in Hellblade will be a huge aspect
Every time I see something new for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice I am generally impressed and can’t wait to see where it all goes from there. This time around I can’t say that I saw anything new and impressive with Ninja Theory‘s latest developer update for the game. Thankfully this is not due to the team faltering on Hellblade or anything, but because this time around it is all about the audio and in that aspect I am taken back yet again. Yes, this time you’ll want to pull out some great headphones or set up some amazing speakers because there is more to hear than see but all in the most amazing way ever. I’ll wait while you get set up.
It has been no secret that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will feature some of the latest in 3D Binaural Sound. We’ve seen a few demonstration of it in the past and that is what we have here now. The big difference here though is now we get to see just how this technology will affect the game and most likely the player experience at the end of the day. From the latest look we have here, it looks like not only will it immerse us into the story of Hellblade, but it will be a mechanic of sorts. At least if the team is able to pull off the final version of what they are showing here. Have a look and then we’ll talk some more.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice — Senua’s Soundscape
In this development diary we give insight into the audio techniques used to craft the world of Hellblade into a living, breathing reflection of Senua’s mind.
We recommend wearing headphones when viewing to fully experience the 3D binaural sound.
Hopefully you followed our suggestion, as well as Ninja Theory‘s, and watch all of this with a great way to hear it all. If not then you missed out on just how the sound mechanics for mission markers could play out. Not only that but you could “feel” and hear just how the dark tunnels and voices in Senua’s head will alter your perceptions in the game and on the couch. Just when I thought that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice couldn’t shock me more, they added in a feature in the level where the world “breaths” along with the character. I’m just curious to see how that will all play out in mechanics or if it is just an amazing visual for the level. I’m truly hoping for both here.
How do you feel after watching the latest here for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice? Were you able to experience it the way it was recommended and will this push you to up you home sound system? Do you think that all of the audio mechanics shown here will be sued throughout the whole game or just in some very specific areas to let them truly shine? Let us know your thoughts on all of this down in the comments and then discuss. As we see and hear more for Hellblade, we will definitely bring it all to you. Be sure to keep checking in on the site to be completely up to date on everything for this game.
