The next story in the Life Is Strange saga is announced with Life Is Strange: True Colors coming this year
Many of us out there have been waiting to see the next in the Life Is Strange saga to drop on us. Today we had the latest in the Square Enix Presents streams where we have just that announced from Deck Nine Games. A title that does not look to be a sequel or prequel at all, but something that will head on its own path but in the same universe of it all. Get ready to be introduced to Life Is Strange: True Colors. The next big title that is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on September 10th of this year. All in one big package and not over various episodes as we have had in the past already. Even better news for the current state of gaming out there too.
In Life Is Strange: True Colors, we are whisked to a different location in the world yet again but in the same universe of it all. We take on the role of Alex Chen that has made the way back home. A home that is now filled with the death of a brother and Alex still trying to suppress the curse of being able to see, experience, and absorb the emotions of all of those around. One that has to be a rough one to have in this instance with all that the death of a loved one will bring with it. In the usual Life Is Strange manner, there is a deeper truth to it all and it will use all that Alex has to offer to uncover the full truth too. Weirdly enough, with no word on how the choice might matter as we have had in all of the past titles so far.
If that was not enough, we also have word that there is a Life Is Strange Remastered Collection coming too. A collection that will house the original title and the Before The Storm titles mixed in. All of which will be sold separately or part of a bigger bundle that will hold this new title as well. Just in case you might have missed out on part of the story that will be bigger roles in this one. It seems that other titles in the line will be left out of it all and might only just be in the universe but with no real ties other than that. The Life Is Strange-verse is getting rather large and hard to follow at times, so this might be for the best.
Life Is Strange: True Colors — Announce Trailer
Square Enix Ltd. today announced Life Is Strange: True Colors during the company’s showcase live stream, Square Enix Presents. This newest entry in the franchise has been created by Deck Nine Games, the developers behind Life Is Strange: Before The Storm, in collaboration with Square Enix External Studios. Presented by musical artist and social media star, mxmtoon, Life Is Strange: True Colors took center stage during the digital show, where its new protagonist, her dynamic supernatural power, and a thrilling mystery was introduced. The company also announced the Life Is Strange Remastered Collection, a new edition of the critically acclaimed Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before The Storm game featuring all-new enhanced graphics and animations.
For the first time in the franchise, there will be no more waiting for the next episode – players will be able to experience Life Is Strange: True Colors in one single release.
Brought to life through full performance capture tech by rising talent Erika Mori, players will navigate Haven Springs as Alex Chen who has long suppressed her ‘curse’: the psychic power of Empathy, a supernatural ability which allows her to experience, absorb and manipulate the strong emotions of others – which she sees as blazing, colored auras. When her brother dies in a so-called accident, Alex must at last embrace her volatile power to find the truth – and uncover the dark secrets buried by a small town. Alex Chen’s journey and power is yours to control, and her future is in your hands.
Players’ time exploring Haven Springs will be underpinned by the exclusive soundtrack, with new tracks by mxmtoon and Novo Amor, and licensed songs including Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers, Gabrielle Aplin, and much more.
Also announced during the show, the Life Is Strange Remastered Collection. This collection will contain remastered editions of Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before The Storm, featuring improved visuals and animations. The collection will be available as part of the Ultimate Edition of Life Is Strange: True Colors and as a stand-alone edition later this year.
Are you excited to get back into the fun of the Life Is Strange titles here? Do you think we will have a choice and morality mechanic in the mix of it all or will that be set aside for this entry? Are you glad to see that it will all release on the same date and not spread out over months as every other title in the line has done? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then let the discussion all begin. When we have more to share for Life Is Strange: True Colors, we will add it to the site for you. Be sure to keep coming back for all of that and much more.
