The release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation is now set, and we get to see how classic Final Fantasy is coming back to this IP
It feels as if we just had a little tease for when we could expect to see Final Fantasy VII Revelation pull into the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, and now we are back to having an official release date for the game. Square Enix does not seem to be messing around when it comes to this one, even if the Collector’s Edition sold out faster than anyone expected. That is a different topic, as the big one is that we will all see Final Fantasy VII Revelation landing out there on April 8th of 2027. That is still a good chunk of time away from some of the other big titles out there, but not too far away that we will need to suffer too much. I am just glad to see it all set in motion as of now.
Now that we know when Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be landing on us, let us all take some time to see just what all of that is going to mean when it comes to the launch. Obviously, this is the conclusion of the remake saga that we have been playing for quite some time now. It is going to bring us all of the answers and fun that we have been expecting. In addition to all of that, and detailed further in the following videos, we are getting a new combat system of sorts, and ways to explore the world. The FITS system is on the way to offer up a mix of the amazing Dress Sphere style of gameplay with the classic Job System from many other Final Fantasy titles. The various characters will put on the FIT, and then they will get the various abilities and bonuses that would come with that cosmetic look they also get. Nothing too crazy, as it sounds like there will be only four of them to choose from, but it will keep combat flowing a little differently each time.

This is not a terrible thing for Final Fantasy VII Revelation at all, and it looks like it will link into more of the fun when it comes to the story and exploration of the world. That is something else that is getting some new features in the mix. Like the fact that we will be able to swap between any of the characters as we wish in the game. That will make them not only the party leader as we head out, but the stories we encounter will shift to their point of view and have them take the lead instead of forcing another character to randomly step in. That certainly feels like a massive undertaking, and I am looking forward to seeing how that all will play out. Not only in general, but with the ability to speed up those scenes so the slower ones do not just feel as if they are going to drag on forever. I know when I played the previous titles I would get to a point where I felt like skipping so much of the dialog to just get back to the action, and now it can just be part of the speedrun.
