New Magic is on the way to us with Spider-Man crossing over his universe to Magic: The Gathering now
We have seen a whole lot of Spider-Man coming to the Magic: The Gathering universe, and now the rest of the card gaming world will have a chance to swing in and give it a try. Not only a try, but you will also be able to buy the sets of cards insanely soon if the playtests go well for you. As long as you have a local gaming store nearby that is ready to show off how to play this new set of cards. As of September 19th, the Magic: The Gathering — Marvel’s Spider-Man sets will be available to play with, in participating stores. Then you will be able to buy them once September 26th swings on in. Not a bad turnaround for those looking to get a bit of Marvel into their fantasy worlds.
This new set for Magic: The Gathering, obviously, offers up various characters from the Spider-Man universe. Many of the various versions of Spider-Man, with their own abilities that fit the characters, as well as the setting of the card game. Not only are the heroes in the mix, but various villains are also present, aligning with the different mana colors that have been featured in Magic: The Gathering for decades now. Some of them were summoned in for a quick attack, and others were designed specifically to be played in a version of Commander. With other fun abilities mixed in and themed mana cards that we should expect, as we have seen in the various other crossover decks for the game. Crawl down the page just a bit more so you can see a solid hype video for all of this, and then head out to your local gaming store to see if they are going to offer up a bit of early play before you buy the decks next week. Do you like that we are seeing the Marvel universe swinging over to the Magic: The Gathering universe? Will this be a standalone expansion, or will we see multiple others from the Marvel IPs, as rumored? Which of the characters do you suspect will be your main before getting to play it? Will there be rules to allow for these cards in a mix-up of the core rules of the game? Obviously, we are fans of the card game and are looking forward to playing Magic: The Gathering — Marvel’s Spider-Man around here.
