Welcome To Viridis And A Look At The Coming World Of Neon Blood

Neon Blood — Welcome To Viridis

A look at the upcoming Neon Blood is here with us going further into the dark world and setting Neon Blood is going to bring us

The cyberpunk fun out there is hitting us again with a new look at the upcoming Neon Blood. A new title from ChaoticBrain Studios and Meridiem Games that will take us into this dark space again and have us playing an interesting graphic adventure in the form some could slate as a JRPG. All with Neon Blood giving us some fun PixelArt visuals for a solid 2.5D experience. As long as you are willing to wait for it to fully launch on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC down the line. When that will be, is still to be determined but that does not mean we do not have something fun to look at for the game as of right now.

In Neon Blood, we are whisked away to 2053 after the Third World War. Humans have pretty much given up and let corporations and businesses rule them all. We cannot stand for that and neither can Axel McCoin. Axel being a detective ready to rebel against all of this and our point of view character in the run of the game. In Neon Blood, Axel will have all manner of fighting capabilities and other skills to help spark the revolution with many feeling like they are pulled right out of some other dystopian IPs we have had out there in the cyberpunk space. Have a look and see if you are ready to embrace this new darkness so you are ready for when it happens in the real world.

Neon Blood — Welcome To Viridis

Meridiem Games and developer ChaoticBrain Studios are thrilled to reveal the first trailer for the dark JRPG/Graphic Adventure title Neon Blood. Coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch via digital stores later in 2024, Neon Blood is a JRPG/Graphic Adventure with a 2.5D aesthetic based on the use of 2D PixelArt sprites with 3D-modeled environments.

This first trailer, titled Welcome to Viridis, unveils gameplay from Neon Blood and several spectacular scenes animated by the fantastic team at Sunshine, known for their work on several major titles in the industry in recent years, both in trailers and in-game animations.

In the year 2053, after the Third World War, humanity was reduced to a single megacity, Viridis, formed by two cities, the luxurious Bright City and the dystopian Blind City.

Axel McCoin, a detective from Blind City, will be motivated by his ideals to rebel against the injustices caused by the drastic class difference between the two cities that exist in the dystopian society they inhabit, becoming a symbol of a revolution.

In his adventure, Axel will encounter powerful allies who will help him in his purpose, as well as enemies who will stand in his way, such as Ruby Emerald, who will do everything possible to thwart Axel’s plans.

Features:

  • Neon Blood features an elaborate and deep story with a cyberpunk theme that serves as a thread to tell Axel’s story, which will be marked by the relationships he will establish throughout his adventure, showing the player the different realities of the two cities.
  • In Neon Blood, we embrace a 2.5D aesthetic, based on using 2D PixelArt sprites with 3D-modeled environments, maintaining an aesthetic differentiation between flat characters and the environment with depth.
  • Explore the two deeply contrasting cities with markedly different aesthetics – the futuristic sci-fi cityscape of Bright City and dark, gritty cyberpunk-inspired Blind City.
  • Use the investigative skills of detective Axel McCoin to reveal Viridis’s dark secrets and set in motion a revolution that could destroy the foundations of society.

Neon Blood will launch digitally for PC via Steam, PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch in 2024.

I do have to say that Neon Blood does look like a fun and new concept to go with. Sure, it all sounds a bit like things we have experienced before now but this new take might offer up a few new ideas for us to take away. Even if some of them look like things from Bladerunner or The Matrix in the mix of it all. Those could just be inspirations that Neon Blood is pulling from since they did hit the populace with some hard impact. All to shine a light on the darkness humans are allowing the world to grow into as I type these worlds. A little deep for a 2.5D title, but maybe that is part of the point the teams are trying to get across here.

How do you feel about Neon Blood as it all looks and does it feel like a title you will need to play this year? Do you think it will hit on different topics out there than the other IPs did or will it be a way for more corporations to make money off of us? Could all of this be in Axel’s head and we are just playing out a fever dream as Axel draws a final breath? Head on into the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to share with the world. There is more to come for Neon Blood, so please keep on coming back to see and hear all about this as the year moves forward.
