New footage for Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong is here to show off how it could play more like a Vampire game than we thought
I know I have had a lot of questions about Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong leading up to now, and I still do, but we have been able to get some of them answered now. Big Bad Wolf has given us a new video to try to breakdown what is going on in the game in sixty seconds. Something that could get us all ready for the May 19th release for the game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC but also show how this will not be like many of the other Vampire games out there. More so as it feels like it is digging deeper into more of the social and mental aspect of the IP over the raw physical nature many other titles seem to take for it. That is easier to design around and it looks like it will only be a small bit of the gameplay here.
It is a very short video here, but it does feel like we are getting more of the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop mixed into this beyond just the lore and name. It does look like it will be following along the lines that The Council did where we will have some free roam and then some choices to be made along the way too. Choices that will give us those combat scenes that you could want, but many of the other skills and powers that normally get sidelined will be used as we open them up. Given the three differences between the characters and clans, this most likely will give us so many different branches to go down too. Seeing as we can use Dominate or Presence to manipulate the dialog as normal in Vampire: The Masquerade, that could lead to a more social style to the game too. All of which we can level up as we complete more challenges and part of the story. All of which will be broken down at the end of each chapter and give us the XP to use as we do better and better.
