A new expansion is on the way to Starship Troopers: Terran Command to take the fight to Earth for all of our Starship Troopers
The fun of Starship Troopers: Terran Command is going to be expanding a bit more with the next DLC on its way to us this June. The next DLC that will have us looking at a whole new area of the IP with The Artistocrats bringing the fight deeper into the mix. If you have not jumped into the bug-squashing fun of the Starship Troopers universe with this title yet, it might be time to do that so you can be fully ready when Slitherine brings us the Urban Onslaught. As long as it is able to stick to that June release timeline and we do not miss it in the mix of the other titles and DLC that will be out around the same time. Let us focus on the fun and what will be coming in it all for now.
Now that we know about the when, let us have a look at what the Arachnids are bringing to us in Starship Troopers: Terran Command to keep the fight going on a bit longer. A fight that will give us a new planet to fight over where we will be in the city streets taking them on and not in the normal landscapes that it is all known for. Along with that, we are going to have eight new story missions, eight new player units, and four new Arachnid types to further put the hurt on humanity. All as we still miss the bigger point of what Starship Troopers was trying to do in the first place. Have a look at a little tease of things to come in the game and see if you are going to be enlisting into the Mobile Infantry one more time to make sure the only good bug is a dead bug in the universe.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command — Urban Onslaught
Slitherine and The Artistocrats are pleased to share that the second main DLC for Starship Troopers: Terran Command will launch this June.
Urban Onslaught sees the conflict between mankind and the Arachnids move into the city streets of a new planet in an eight-mission story campaign that is focused on tactically rich, open maps.
The Arachnid onslaught has reduced majestic boulevards and towering skyscrapers to rubble and the homes of citizens are in great peril. Bug hordes are encroaching on the central districts and local police forces have been completely overwhelmed. The responsibility now falls on the shoulders of the player to lead the Mobile Infantry to victory and reclaim this beacon of human civilization.
As well as adding a new environment to wage war in, Urban Onslaught expands upon the Bug-squashing action in many engaging new ways. The DLC adds eight new unit types for the player, including mechanized missile launchers, hovering autocannons, and airborne gunships, four new Arachnid unit types, and two new challenge missions.
The full list of features included in the DLC are:
- A New Planet, A New Environment: Squash the Bugs in city streets, liberate a massive airport, clear internal buildings, and venture through underground basements, sewers, and metro lines.
- 8 mission story campaign, focused on open maps that offer tactical freedom.
- 2 new challenge missions.
- 8 new player units, including mechanized missile launchers, hovering autocannons, and airborne gunships.
- 4 new Arachnid unit types.
I have to say that I thought that Starship Troopers: Terran Command had run its course already and had been left behind for other games out there. Thankfully, this is not the case and we are getting something that will further expand on all of that fun and darkness out there. It feels rare to see the urban landscape come up in the mix and this feels like it has so much potential out there in the world. Even this little trailer we have has me wanting to give the bigger Starship Troopers: Terran Command a go again to get back up to speed and ready for June to come to us all. Especially with the new bugs in the works and the extra story segments we will have while trying to nuke them all back to the nests they came from. The backlog of titles needs to be hammered through a bit more it would seem.
Have you been enjoying Starship Troopers: Terran Command up to now and are amped to see it is going to have one more expansion? How do you think the urban environments are going to be used and will it add a whole different element to everything outside of the look? Will this further drive home all of the other aspects of the IP or just be another fun RTS for us to get lost in while the backlogs fill up again? Take to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to offer up out there. We should have more for Starship Troopers: Terran Command as we get closer to June, so please keep on checking in for all of those updates and the many others we have to offer up along the way.
