A new skin for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is on the way to further bring this Texas maniac to life for our deaths
Those looking for a new fright in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre just in time for Halloween, here we go with a new skin on the way to the game. Not only a new skin for Leatherface, but a new saw, new sounds, and a new kill for the iconic character here coming from Sumo Nottingham and another well-known name in horror. Greg Nicotero is lending a hand with this one so we can get a new look to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre that we have never seen. This is something that has generally been set down from the first film and carrying forward with a bit of in-universe lore as to why we see Leatherface change things up too.
The new DLC for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is slated to come out in October, but there does not seem to be a solid date set for it as of yet. The hard pill to swallow for it all, though, is this will cost an additional $15.99 USD for those looking to add it to the collection. While the new look of it all is nice, I am not sure it is worth another $16 USD to have a skin, saw, and kill for the character. Maybe if there was a lot more to it all with some other Texas locations, sure, but just for this, the price feels a little steep. Maybe I am missing something, but you can see this new skin and part of the kill in the following video we have to share.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre — Greg Nicotero Leatherface
Designed by Special Makeup FX Artist and founder of KNB EFX Group, Greg Nicotero, we are proud to introduce Nicotero Leatherface. A new Leatherface, new saw, new sound, and a brand new universal Leatherface kill coming this October.
To go along with this, we do have a nice behind-the-scenes video with Nicotero and We Keltner to talk about what is coming in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and how it all came to be. The interesting part is that this is all based on a different story of things where the Hitchhiker wanted to go dig up some graves and needed Leatherface to join in the fun. That is why he is wearing the clothes he is. The new mask, though, is based around the usual ideal in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre where Leatherface is changing things up, but this one had two mouth/nose parts to sew together instead of two eyes. That is why you have two different parts of a face in the design and the eye is rather large for one of them. A nice bit of lore, but nothing too shocking in my eyes. At least as the designer usually goes out there.
