A live-action trailer for Atlas Fallen is here to show a different tone coming for the launch of Atlas Fallen
With many of the videos we have had for Atlas Fallen up to now, it has seemed like this game was going to be leaning into some serious story while offering a bit of the fun for the gameplay. That is what I have been prepping myself for since seeing everything from Deck13 Interactive showed it all off. Now, it feels as if that might not be the full case. As long as we are taking the correct lesson from the latest live-action trailer we have for Atlas Fallen just before the August 10th release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Something tells me there could be a lot more fun mixed in than we thought before.
You can have a look at the new live-action trailer we have for Atlas Fallen just a little lower, but do note that it is not all live-action. That is, there is a bit of the gliding and traversal gameplay mixed in that leans into the sand surfing a bit more. This is where some of the seriousness of it all feels like they are leaning into the absurd nature of it all. Something that feels like it could come across in the final version of Atlas Fallen if this is any indication of how the team started looking at it all. As if there is a serious world with serious consequences going on, but our main protagonist is sand surfing with weapons that get larger and larger as they are used. I am hoping this is more of the case here, as it does feel like there is a lack of solid comedy games out there and just serious games with sprinkles of comedy to break things up.

Sadly, though, I have a feeling this is more of the marketing for Atlas Fallen instead of any indication of how the final game is going to feel out there. It would be a surprise to find out that the team was able to keep the humous nature of it all so well hidden up to launch. This is most likely just akin to the 90s marketing that went down for video games, where things were taken seriously and then shown off to be just a “toy” or entertainment. A nice little nod to the past, sure, but with how things work in the modern age, can lead consumers down the wrong path when it comes to their video games. With true luck, Atlas Fallen will split the difference and maybe give us the best of all worlds and make the game shine that much brighter for the world. One can hope.
Are you still excited to head into Atlas Fallen and sand surf around the world or will it be more of the hammer smashing you are going for? Is this a bit of a throwback to the classic marketing schemes of yore or is this truly indicative of the game we are about to get out there? Would you want this one to be an all-comedy title or will games always work better with the solid mix of things instead? Surf on down to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share with the world. There is more to come for Deck13 Interactive, and we will have it all here for you.
