A lot more for Injustice 2 has been revealed which brings the Joker back to Injustice 2 as well as how ‘towers’ are going to be a part of the game
There was a whole lot that just dropped for Injustice 2 here recently and it confirmed what a lot of people suspected for a while. We had yet another character revealed, and unless the NetherRealm Studios website isn’t listing the DLC characters right now, this will be the last for the core roster before May 16th. Seeing as Darkseid is on the current list for said site, we are supposed to have nine more DLC characters for Injustice 2, and we have nine open slots on the list it seems likely but maybe they will surprise us with nine more starting characters and then nine more DLC. Doubtful, but we can hope.
Anyways, during the DC All Access event for Injustice 2 we had a chance to see the latest character they had to show off. As the leaked roster sheet from last year suggested, it looks like the Joker is back and doing what he does best in the game. This may seem a bit odd given that he was killed in the first Injustice game, but given that his look is quite a bit different this could mean that we are going to see other locations from the multiverse that they are so quick to use in the comics and shows. Mix in the fact that Injustice 2 will have a multiverse system, more on that in a moment, it makes perfect sense that the Clown Prince Of Crime is back. Have a look at him in action here.
Injustice 2 — Introducing Joker!
Joker
Though killed by Superman, the Joker continues to haunt the lives of all those touched by his madness. By destroying Metropolis, he set the events in motion which made enemies of Superman and Batman. If he were alive to see the chaos he’d created, he would surely be smiling.
Speaking of the multiverse in Injustice 2, it has been asked of NetherRealm Studios many times if we would see something like the Tower System we saw in Mortal Kombat X. These were hourly, daily, and weekly challenges that were set up to give players a feel for new and old characters as well as to partake in some cool challenges set down by the developers. The Multiverse System seems to be exactly that as it will give us the same challenges but also the chance to get some exclusive gear and ways to perfect our chosen characters. Not only that, but it looks like there will be smaller stories mixed into each one to further expand the game’s lore and characters.
Injustice 2 — Multiverse Gameplay
Multiverse is similar to Mortal Kombat X‘s Living Towers. In Injustice 2, you can select missions and play out short story lines through a series of fights that’ll earn you unique gear and exclusive rewards. They are all special themed and timed challenges that players will need to survive through.
If you are still looking for more for Injustice 2 after that massive content dump though, you can have a look at the full DC All Access event just below. There is a plethora of other gameplay clips we haven’t shared here yet and other looks at the game in general. Have a look and see what you may have missed and then get ready to wait a few more weeks as Injustice 2 is still hitting our PS4 and Xbox One on May 16th. We also have all those DLC characters to look forward to as well so I haven’t given up hope for Spawn or Constantine to make the jump into the game at some point.
