New screenshots for Guardians Of The Galaxy have been placed out there with word on when we’ll see Guardians Of The Galaxy in action before launch
We’ve all been waiting for something to come out officially for the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy title that Telltale Games is working on but since its originally announcement back in December all we’ve had have been rumors and speculation. Things like the “leak” that we may see the first episode at least before the end of April, the 25th is still the date in rumor, as well as very little on what the game’s story will actually revolve around. Given that Marvel has made it clear that their video games don’t need to follow the Film and TV franchise continuity if they don’t want to, this version of the Guardians Of The Galaxy is rather up in the air and still fraught with mystery. Just as a good surprise story should be.
Today some of that mystery is being revealed as we have some new screenshots for this version of Guardians Of The Galaxy to look at and it shows off the team and how they will ultimately look once the episodes start flying out there. In true Telltale fashion not much can be gleaned from these new images other than the fact that they look to be moving away from their traditional style of animation to a bit more on the 3D side. Not that they haven’t done that before, but all of the Guardians Of The Galaxy here definitely look to have more shape than any of the past titles the developer has put out there. I’m not griping at all, I am just pointing that out there for you.
Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience.
The series will feature a star-studded cast of voice talent, including Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O’Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (The Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League Of Legends) as Groot.
If this is not enough of the Guardians Of The Galaxy game they are working on for you, then you should note that we will be getting further details here soon as well as some actual gameplay. Not in the normal way Telltale Games puts out a trailer just before launch, but at PAX East the team will be talking about the game and how the team has crafted an engaging story. That will all be on the 10th here (this Friday). Then a week later at SXSW, on the 17th, they will also be hosting one of their Crowd Play sessions like they have with some of their recent titles to show off Guardians Of The Galaxy in a bit more action oriented manner.
It has been stated that the discussion during PAX East will of course be streamed live via their normal manners so you can catch all of that this Friday at 6pm EST. In terms of the Crowd Play, it looks like is will only be available for those actually attending SXSW and have a badge on site. That will be open to a first-come-first-serve style of seating and for the rest of us not going to be there, we can only hope that we’ll get a stream of the game from our homes, or maybe a breakdown of it in some archived footage from the show. Either way this all kind of points to Guardians Of The Galaxy launching within a month or two if all goes well. We’ll just have to wait and see for now.
How do you like the look and feel of the characters here in Guardians Of The Galaxy and do you agree they look less “comic” and more real? Do you think that the voice cast that has been selected will do just as great of a job as the film and TV actors have already for the characters? Do you think that we will see this gameplay footage at the same time or shortly before the first episode is slated to release? Let us know what you think on all of that and more down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more to see and show for Guardians Of The Galaxy we will have it here for you. Stay locked into the site here so you can be certain to see it all as it is released out into the wilds.
