See just how the next Ninja Turtles game came to be with the latest for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
There is still no release date set for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, or PC. Well, beyond that it is still coming out this year. That does not detract from the fact that Tribute Games and Dotemu are still making sure we are getting that 80s fun back in our hands with a new game. It will just add on more to the other Ninja Turtles titles that will be dropping out there too. That is why it is always fun to see just how the game is being made and almost did not come to be what we have here now. Not exactly, with how all of the start-up development kicked off. Something that you can take in with the latest behind-the-scenes video we have for the development out there.
There is a bit of gameplay we have seen for Shredder’s Revenge before and a bit that we have not specifically seen yet, but the more interesting fact is that this was one of two Ninja Turtles titles that were in the works until they combined forces. The developers here do state that they were similar, which is why they combined it into one title, but I am curious to know how they could have differed and maybe given us two titles. It is a thing we will only get to speculate on and maybe it is why we are seeing more of the Ninja Turtles’ other characters added in, but still a fun thought experiment to have. Have a look and then start to ponder about the title we will never get and then the one that we are certainly going to get this year.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge — Behind The Scenes #1: Once Upon A Shell
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
In a rare behind-the-scenes video, filmed in the Tribute Games’ studio, Co-Founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert discuss their lifelong dreams of working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. After creating a string of acclaimed hits with the talent at Tribute Games (amongst other studios), Major joined forces with Dotemu to navigate the years of discussions to secure the rights to a new outing based on the Turtles’ timeless 1987 designs.
What other kind of Ninja Turtles title do you think we are missing out on here? Do you think we will get more of the hero and villain characters mixed in with the love the teams have for the animated version of it all? Could we see anything from the comics get mixed in too or would that be too dark for the tone of the game that they are going for? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. We will keep sharing what we can for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge as we get closer to a release date. So be sure to keep your eyes on the site for all of that and much, much more.
