The Silent Hill stream has come and gone with all kinds of news with a Silent Hill 2 Remake officially on the way
It is time to lose your minds for all things Silent Hill, as the big announcement that Konami had for us all was much more than we expected here. Given how many of the rumors, speculation, and the owners of the IP have treated it over the years, we were expecting something more on the basic side. Instead, we all get to start off with the official announcement that we are getting a Silent Hill 2 Remake out there for the PS5 and PC. It will be a little bit of an exclusive on the consoles with the game dropping on the Xbox Series X|S sometime a year after it all. It makes sense given the IPs history, but it is also a little rough for those that have been dying to get anything new for the IP.
This new Silent Hill 2 Remake looks like it is going to try to do what was teased a while back before it was hard-canned for various reasons. It is also getting handled by Bloober Team, which has blown many minds out there as of late with many of the other horror titles that they have dropped on us too. All with the high-level of visuals we should expect after all of this time and still keep all of the greatness that made Silent Hill 2 one of the most iconic from the IP out there. I just hope we get to see all of the different endings and then maybe more given the extra space and time they have to work on it all. It truly looks amazing and we are just getting teased here for now.
Silent Hill 2 Remake — Teaser
Having received a letter from his deceased wife,
James heads to where they shared so many memories,
In the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill.
There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her…
“My name…is Maria,” the woman smiles. Her face, her voice… She’s just like her.
Experience a master class in psychological survival horror―lauded as the best in the series―on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.
While this is amazing, some Silent Hill fans might be finding it a little hard to get into it all knowing that they might have to wait an extra year over the normal wait we still have. That is where all of the other titles that were announced also come in. There is not much more to many of them, but we have some teases for a live streaming “game” in the IP with Silent Hill: Ascension, another title from the makers of Stray and Stories Untold called Silent Hill: Townfall, a whole new story set in 1960s Japan called Silent Hill f, and then to wrap it all up, a new feature film from the people that brought us all the first one. It was not a blockbuster, but it was a good time and still something to get overly hyped up for as we wait.

Silent Hill f — Teaser

If you missed the Silent Hill transmission that took place, you can see it all right here. The big bits that were announced are all above, but there is a little more on the behind-the-scenes of it all and more on the various merchandise that Konami is working to get out there to us all. All so you can show off how big of a Silent Hill fan you have been even in the long gap between the original versions and now. Even if it would be nice to finally see where P.T. was going to go out there. Maybe in a totally different timeline, we can try to find a way into it at some point…

Did you expect to get all of this Silent Hill news out there or was this a massive surprise we all needed to keep us going? Do you think all of these other titles will build into each other or will they all be their own isolated bits in the long line of games? Do you think we need a new feature film for the IP and it has been too long since we had it in the first place? Let the discussion flow down in the comments and let the world know your thoughts. Obviously, we are going to keep offering up what we can for the Silent Hill 2 Remake and the rest of the IP. Hopefully in smaller bite-size segments and not just in some massive information dumps as we had to do now to keep you all in the know.
