SCUM Is Looking For Us All To Form Some New Alliances In The World

SCUM — New Gameplay

New gameplay for SCUM has dropped and leans into more of the co-op gameplay coming to SCUM

Things are still evolving and changing in SCUM during its Early Access and here we get to see a little more of that gameplay in action. That is what we have here to look at as Gamepires gears up to drop in some new things into the game with another update. New things that will have us all focusing on some of the new alliances we will have to make to keep things going in SCUM. It will soon be time to figure out if you will be a friend or foe as we all try to survive a bit longer in this game. Even if it would make more sense for all to be friends, but that is not how humans will function in the world out there. So, get ready for more of the foes.

As you might have guessed, this allows for a few other things in SCUM that can turn some elements into more of a co-op and team multiplayer experience. Like having the ability to share equipment, items, and other gear with other players online. I am also going to guess that this will allow each other to have access to the various other shelters and things in the world so you can help for the greater good too. Given that this is all optional in SCUM, it does lean towards giving some the chance to be moles and utter scum in the game where they might turn on each other and lead to less predictable experiences. Unless there is something built in to make that kind of turn hard to do after teaming up.

SCUM — New Gameplay

Jagex and Gamepires are thrilled to reveal a brand new gameplay trailer for SCUM, showing off the vibrant island, hordes of enemies, and high-intensity combat of the hit multiplayer open-world survival game.

The new gameplay trailer focuses on enemies and alliances. In SCUM, threats lurk across every corner of the Island: from puppets who attack on sight, to other players who may choose to become friend or foe. Team up with others to share equipment, items, and weaponry to overcome an even greater threat, or fend for yourself in a hardcore survival experience where nothing is predictable.

Discover unprecedented levels of character customization, control, and progression, take advantage of the natural landscape to craft resources, and team up with other players or fight solo in a complex simulation where you’ll need guts, cunning, and skill to survive.

It is weird to see that SCUM is still in its “Early Access” after six years of work, but nice to see that the teams are still giving more. This does feel like a feature that should have been in the game from the start, but hopefully, it will lead to giving us a better final product out there. When that ever does land. Granted, if this does mean that we can join a team, go behind the walls, then leave the team Trojan Horse style, I can quickly see players using this and causing a downfall for SCUM. Humans are good at breaking and ruining good things out there. Only time will tell and we will just have to hope for the best while surviving it all.

Are you excited to see this added into SCUM or were players already kind of doing this before? Will this lead to a lot of backstabbing in the game or will there be a way to hold that off? When do you think this game will finally leave that Early Access stage of everything? Head down to the comment section to discuss it all and leave your thoughts for your friends out there. We will keep bringing what we can for SCUM here on the site, so please keep on coming back to see and hear about all of that as it does flow out there.
