The release date for Rotten Flesh is now set with Rotten Flesh coming in just a few weeks from now on the PC
If you want to have a horror experience where you need to find your dog in the wild, get ready to see Rotten Flesh land on the PC very soon. The release date for this interesting title from Steelkrill Studio is now set for January 21st so we can go through this horrifying experience of losing our dog while also mixing in some interesting new gameplay mechanics. That being that we can actually call out for our dog in Rotten Flesh and get a response from the game. That or maybe the random cosmic horrors that are also stalking the darkness out there in the game. All to show what we will do for our best friend who has gone missing in a terrible world.
Yes, this means that Rotten Flesh will have us shouting into our game’s microphone to get a call back from our virtual dog in the game. Something that we will need to do so we can try to find our little buddy while navigating the PSX-era visuals in the mix. Not the first time that a game has used the microphone to have some reaction in the game, but a nice little twist on the “Marco Polo” kind of gameplay in a video game. Even if it would make sense in Rotten Flesh that our dog would come running to us, most likely, than trying to lure us deeper into the area and other horrors out there. We would not have a game at that point, so I guess we will need to suspend some disbelief when it comes to all of this.

I am a fan of seeing new mechanics in video games and am excited to see how this will work in Rotten Flesh. Given that the dog’s name is Roy, I have a feeling that it will react well, but I am curious about how clear it has to be said in the game. That or if it is too basic of a name the game will register you shouting when you are not. Seeing as there are some cosmic horrors hunting us in Rotten Flesh too, I can see that causing a few game-over screens when we are just trying to be silent. Thankfully, it will only be a few weeks from now that we will get to see just how it all functions. I am sure that there have been many kinks ironed out for this one already.
Does the premise for Rotten Flesh sell you or will the fact that there is a dog in danger have you holding off? How close do you think we will need to be to call out for the dog or will it be generalized voice recognition? Will it also pick up all other audio to help the game hunt us or will it only be when we call out for our dog? Take to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share with the world out there. If we have more to offer up for Rotten Flesh, we will try to share it all here. Please keep on checking back for those updates and many others that we will have soon.
