Ripout will be coming to consoles so Ripout can offer up the action-packed fun to us all
Usually, the announcement of a new publisher does not garner a big bit of news to take in. Usually. But in the case of Ripout, it looks like there is a bit more to sing about the game. Originally, it was looking as if Pet Project Games were only going to be able to bring the fun over to the PC. Now, they have partnered up with 3D Realms and we have the announcement that Ripout will now be heading to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S when it launches out there. That date is still being placed down as some time in 2022, as we all still wait for that, but it is coming and now to more platforms than before. All to give more gamers that fun experience they might never have known that they wanted.
In addition to this little announcement for Ripout, we also have a bit of new gameplay to look at and see some of the new monstrosities that we will be facing off with in the game. Not only that, but some of the retro-looking effects that the game will have overlaid in there to give us more of that 90s shooter feel we had way back when. I am talking about the analog TV lines that seem to only be covering the monsters in Ripout and not the full game. It seems like an odd choice to go with, but maybe it will make sense in the grand scheme of the story and events we will be placed into. No matter the case, you can see it below and then gear up to play it all on the various other platforms we have for the game now.
Ripout — Announcement
Ripout, a brand new Sci-Fi Coop Shooter, from 3D Realms and Pet Project Games, coming to PC and Consoles in 2022!
Powered by Unreal Engine, Ripout takes you on an action-packed fight for survival beyond Earth. After genetically engineering a powerful bioweapon to save itself from alien invaders, humanity falls victim to its own creation. You awaken in the year 2084 as one of Earth’s last surviving soldiers. Alone amongst the mutated monstrosities of mankind, will you safeguard our legacy… or will our species be forever consumed by the void?
Did you expect to see Ripout make it over to the other platforms along the way or did it feel like it was a PC-only title? How do you feel about the style that the team is going with in the game and will it make sense once we are playing it? Is it interesting to see it is not coming to the older consoles out there or has the time come that games will stop being forced to be on those systems? Tell us all of your thoughts on this and more down in the comments. We will keep a close eye on Ripout and keep the updates coming to the site. Please keep checking in for all of that and much, much more.
