Resident Evil 4 Is Coming To Us Again This August

Resident Evil 4 — Launch Date

The release date for Resident Evil 4 on the current gen systems has been announced and we’ll see Resident Evil 4 this August again

While it isn’t new news that Resident Evil 4 is heading the PS4 and Xbox One directly, that was announced a while back, but now we have a solid release date for when we will get to play the game on the systems. It looks like Capcom has set the date and we will be reliving one of the best additions into the franchise on August 30th now. Hopefully you’ve been able to play catch up in reverse with all of the other titles announced with Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Corps or most likely waiting until August now to play it all in order. That would have been my personal choice but that’s just no how the releases seemed to sync up.

I am one of the many out there who see Resident Evil 4 as one of the pinnacle titles in the franchise. I’ll even admit that it is the only one that I have played through many times and not only two or three like the rest. It brought so many great changes, that have been thrown out of the franchise up to now, and it was a sign that the developers knew what they were doing. Hopefully this is what helped them all figure out how they should treat Resident Evil 7 and based on that demo it looks like that may be so. But enough gushing now as we get back on the topic at hand.

As with all of the other Resident Evil titles that have come to the current gen systems, Resident Evil 4 is bringing all of the additions and bonuses that came out over the many different releases of the game. One of which being the amazing Ada Wong side story that made me repurchase the game way back when it was brought out as an extra to entice more players. Seeing the story of Resident Evil 4 through a different angle and seeing how Leon and Ashley had some help was just as amazing as making the enemies not mindless zombies anymore. Something I hope we see in the new game this January.

Resident Evil 4,5,6 — Announce Trailer

This current release of Resident Evil 4 on PS4 and Xbox One includes all the bonus content from the original game, as well as additional features that were added in later versions:

  • Ada Wong Side Story — The mysterious and elusive Ada Wong stars in her own side story, which fills in intriguing story gaps from Leon’s mission.
  • Mercenaries Mode — The addicting evolution of Resident Evil 3’s bonus mode is awarded to players who complete the campaign, providing hours of replayability and lets fans play as Wesker, Hunk, and more iconic characters.
  • New Game Plus — Allows players to bring their powerful arsenal, unlocked costumes, and other secret weapons into a fresh playthrough.
  • Costumes and Weapons — Want to focus on yourself instead of protecting Ashley? Equip her with the knight armor costume and laugh as enemy’s attempt to attack her or carry her off with futility. Leon’s Chicago Typewriter — an insanely powerful Tommy Gun — also provides a fun power trip if you have enough cash to give the infamous Merchant.

Will Resident Evil 4 be the title that gets you to pick up these “remasters” for the current gen systems or have you been doing that already? What were your thoughts on this game as it comes to the overall franchise and IP? Did you enjoy it as much as I did in my life or will this be your first taste? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on Resident Evil 4 and the franchise in general be sure to keep your browser locked in right here on the site. We will have so much more as time goes on.
