Classic horror title, Nightmare Creatures, is getting rebooted, revamped, or just brought back as a new Nightmare Creatures has been announced
It is hard to believe that it has been twenty years since Nightmare Creatures first graced us with its presence and tried to put the fear in us with the limited power of the hardware at the time. Now we get to flash forward to now and it looks like Albino Moose Games is looking to bring the game back to us with a new version. Some say it is a reboot. Some say it is a revamp. No matter how you state it, Nightmare Creatures is coming back to us and using the power of the current gen systems and the Unity Engine to give us that taste for it all again. Given the current state of Horror in video games, this could be an insanely amazing addition to it all as long as it is handled well.
Of course, this is just an announcement for the new Nightmare Creatures and all that we have at this point is the following announcement trailer and the basics we mentioned above that comes from the developer’s social media accounts. Nothing much else has been revealed but it does need to be noted that the developers are self-proclaimed fans of the franchise and that we should know it is in good hands. I will not doubt that out of the gate, but until we can see some final or close-to-final gameplay for this Nightmare Creatures I will stay cautiously optimistic. I know I would love to see it done well so there is a bar that I have set for this version of the game.
Nightmare Creatures — 2017 Announcement
In 1666, a cult made up of the world’s most influential players created an elixir that would grant them vast unholy powers — but something went terribly wrong, and their experiments yielded only bloodthirsty, mutant horrors. As the cult is decimated from the inside by betrayal and the creatures escape into London, a traveling priest and the daughter of a murdered immunologist fight their way to the center of the city and defeat the evil once and for all… or so they believe.
Nightmare Creatures returns after almost 20 years — backed up by horror super-fans at Albino Moose Games. Race around the world to stop the hellish machinations of Crowley, before he uncovers the secrets of the elixir and drowns the world… in Nightmare Creatures!
