A new cinematic horror title, The Quarry, is announced where we will have to help teenagers survive the terrors this quarry holds
Supermassive Games is still riding a bit of a high with their previous endeavor we are still waiting to wrap up, but that does not mean they will not be hitting us with a new title here with The Quarry. Before you think it, this is not another addition to the ongoing titles they are still going with but a new one that 2K is helping them get out there on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In an insanely timely manner with The Quarry getting announced then slated with a June 10th release date for all of those platforms. Not too shabby, but now let us all dive into what we are about to get here for the game.
With all of that said, The Quarry does look and sound like it will be using quite a bit of the work that the team has used in the past but with a new and original story here. It is a cinematic thriller where we will control different teenagers that are on their last night after a summer camp when things go sideways. We will have to make choices and move each of them along in the story where all of the actions and choices will change the outcome for The Quarry, as well as who lives and dies. It is a gameplay loop we have had many times from the team, but they do it well and are using some great new technology and actors to tell it all, so you know it will be worth it.
In addition to all of this, The Quarry will also house the same multiplayer modes and cinematic playing options for the game. Up to seven friends can hop online and experience the game together in that way while taking turns controlling different characters, or it can be done while sitting on the couch in your home that might not have seven seats available. Those that do not want to have the harder gameplay experience will also have the option to play The Quarry in a Movie Mode that will have you playing out the events of the game in more of a binge-style experience instead of mixing in all of the gameplay elements. Have a look at some of it now and then see if it will grace your shelves this June.

Are you a little surprised to see that we are getting The Quarry here before the end of the team’s other title or does that make sense to you? Are you a little let down that it is not a sequel to another title of theirs or are you also on board for the original IP using the same solid mechanics?
