Ever thought about changing your name? I have. Ever thought
about changing your name to your favorite video game character? No I havent?
Well a 6 year old Norwegian boy did, and here is what happened. This is
according to a Norwegian newspaper and dagbladet.no.
Last year Christer wrote a letter to the King asking for his
name to be changed to Sonic X. Thats right he wanted his name to be Sonic X,
do not know why but he did. His parents did not want to send out the letter but
once Christer asked why the King hasnt replied to his request to change his name.
So the parents finally sent out the letter thinking the King will not respond. Well they were wrong, King Harald V replied back saying Sadly,
the King could not change Christers name, but not because the change would
result in a child running around with a ridiculous video game characters
title. No, the request was rejected for the sole reason that at six-years-old,
Christer was not old enough to make such a decision. Thus, the boy must contact
King Harald V in twelve years time once hes turned 18.
Needless to say, Christer was disappointed but check this
out, Sega heard about this story and send Christer a bunch of Sega gear to make
him feel better. So does that mean if I send a letter to ask the president if
he can change my name officially to Thrall and get denied, will blizzard send
me free stuff or better yet a lifetime member for World of Warcraft?
