A new rhythm-shooter, Metal: Hellsinger, is announced with Hellsinger mixing up the FPS and Rhythm genre to keep the blood pounding in our ears
It is not like it has not been done before, but the rhythm genre and the FPS genre do not always seem like a go-to when thinking about a game, but here we are with the announcement for Metal: Hellsinger. This would be the next attempt at this style of game from The Outsiders and Funcom slated to hit the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC sometime next year. As the name kind of describes, Metal: Hellsinger is going to focus more on the heavy metal side of the music as we run ourselves through a hellish landscape slaying demons and devils to the beat of some amazing guitar licks and brutal screams. As one would assume for a heavy metal shooter as described.
What we have to go with on top of this description for Metal: Hellsinger is some fairly solid pre-alpha gameplay to look at for it all. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games that work better for us in practice instead of watching others play as the gameplay just looks like it was synced up to the music more than the player taking the proper shots. Given that the point of Metal: Hellsinger is to take the shots and kills in time with the beat, I am going to go on the assumption it was not doctored though. Especially since the destruction and gameplay enhancements come with the ability to stay on beat. It just seems like it may be harder to do since we will be off-rails. That is my only eye-raise to it all. It still looks like it could be an amazing title with some great musical talent backing it.

What do you think about Metal: Hellsinger based on what we have to see here? Do you think these two genres will mix well or will the fact that it looks to play like DOOM throw things off just a bit to keep it enjoyable? What artists or musicians are you hoping to see get added into the mix that we have already? Let the world know your thoughts on all of this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. There will be more for Metal: Hellsinger, I am sure, and we will have it all here on the site. Be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more as we march onward in time.
