Learn more of the story behind Paradise Lost so you can better understand the differences that Paradise Lost will have from the real-world histories
There has been a bit of insight into the alternate history that Paradise Lost was going to try to emulate for us when it finally hits the PC. There have been some signs that PolyAmorous was going to follow along with some of the real-world histories out there but then deviate as needed to help tell a compelling story on how things could have gone differently. In the instance of Paradise Lost it looks as if it is that WWII never ended and had a few different strategies happen in the mix of it all. Well, at least not ended in the way we might have thought and not exactly as other video games have gone down in the past too.
As the last story in the world of Paradise Lost goes, it looks like the Germans took advantage of a few areas and timing that we did not see happen in the real world. This all led them to gain access to nuclear materials, thus weapons, well before any of their enemies out there. The world still banded together to try to bring their army down, but they had a doomsday event placed out there for when things were too overwhelming for them. That is, in setting up bunkers that could survive the nuclear holocaust and placing their people there first. Thankfully in the world of Paradise Lost, some others there learned of this and placed their own operatives in the bunkers to survive as well. All so they could make it to 1980 and give us all a look at how that went down. That is at least the short version of it all here and you can see it expanded a little more down below.
