A new zombie outbreak is out there for us to play through with the launch of Outbreak Shades Of Horror: Chromatic Split
Just when you think you have had enough of those zombies out there, more of them are rising up for the launch of Outbreak Shades Of Horror: Chromatic Split. A title that is keeping the fun that Dead Drop Studios has been working on flowing for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Well at least for two of the three platforms there with The Xbox and PC getting Outbreak Shades Of Horror just before Halloween on October 25th. The PS5 version will be coming later in the “Fall” but there are only so many more days for that to truly be a thing after the 25th comes and goes, so we will just have to wait and see for now.
It is interesting to see the split release dates here for Outbreak Shades Of Horror as it rather ties into one of the bigger gameplay elements of the game that we can see here as we wait. That element is that we are going to be able to play through the game here as both the hero and villain of the story. At least to an extent. Half of the game we will be playing as Lydia who is a police officer trying to expose the world to what is going on. The other half we will be Hank who has their own agenda during this outbreak and will keep a higher watch over the city. Both with their own story and side of things to tell while also surviving the terrors that roam the streets. It feels a little like Resident Evil, but in some of the best ways. Have a look and see if that assumption is on point or not.
Outbreak Shades Of Horror: Chromatic Split — Launch Trailer
Cypress Ridge – September 28, 1999
Go back to the beginning of the end in the prologue to Dead Drop Studios‘ upcoming Outbreak Shades Of Horror. Play as both the heroes and the villains of the outbreak as you attempt both to avoid an outbreak of epic proportions and to stop word from getting out.
As Lydia, a veteran police officer, races against time through the Cypress Ridge sewers to spread the truth of the Outbreak before it’s too late but beware there is more than sludge and rats waiting for her.
As Hank, keep sight of your target while navigating a rooftop of insanity as he tries to stop the truth from coming to the surface. But remember, the higher you are, the harder you fall when the zombies attack!
This leads to the upcoming Outbreak Shades Of Horror, a spiritual successor to online survival horror from the early 2000s.

How do you think this new outbreak will flow in the world here and will the split stories be the perfect way to tell it? Will the two characters ever cross paths out there in the world or will they just be two isolated stories for us to enjoy while taking down the hordes of undead? When do you think the PS5 will see this title out there and is it some of the newer features that the Pro has that will be slowing it all down? Run on down to the comment section to give those thoughts to us and then feel free to discuss it all. When there is more to share for Outbreak Shades Of Horror: Chromatic Split, we will share it all with you here. Please keep an eye on the site and the various channels to keep as up-to-date on all of this as possible. It should be a fun and dark ride to enjoy for the Halloween season at the very least.
