Multiplayer modes are on the way with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 as we get ready to crash into this slice of Warhammer again
It is not coming as any surprise that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is going to house a bit of the multiplayer aspects when it launches out there on September 9th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It would be more of a surprise if Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment did not try to find a way to add all of that in. Here we are, though, with the multiplayer modes and co-op options that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be dropping on us along with some of the cosmetic alterations we can expect to play with too. Let us have a look and see just what we are going to be able to play with friends.
At launch, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is looking to have three 6v6 PvP modes for us to play with called Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control. Taking a stab at what we have to do my guess is “kill the other team,” claim more of the map,” and “capture the enemy base.” As long as the names are anything to go on. Also coming along in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is an all-new co-op mode that will allow up to three players to team up and head out to complete various operations in the game. All so we can have a good reason to alter our Space Marine’s look with the various cosmetics that will be crammed into the game and available with the Season Pass of content. Here is a bit of a look at the modes in action just a little lower down so you can get the proper taste for it all.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 — Multiplayer Modes
Old and new fans alike are in for a multiplayer treat! In addition to bringing back Space Marine’s iconic battle against the Chaos Space Marines in three 6v6 PvP modes (Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control), Space Marine 2 features an all-new co-op mode, letting you slay xenos with up to two friends in three-player “Operations Mode.” Each PvE and PvP mode lets players choose between six available classes, ranging from the unflinching Bulwark and his Combat Shield, to the stealthy Sniper with his Camo Cloak.
Players will also be able to customize their Space Marines, from helm to greaves, with a wide selection of colors, heraldry decals, pauldrons, gauntlets, and more! While new content like missions, enemies, and weapons will be available to all players through regular free updates, the Season Pass will grant even more cosmetics.
Heed the call of battle when Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches Sept. 9, 2024, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Would it have been weird to have a Warhammer title that did not have full co-op or multiplayer in it? Do you think that the different modes will have vastly different objectives than we think? What will be the true benefit of getting to play the Operations Mode with two other players when you load the game up? Shoot on down to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to offer up to the world out there. We will certainly have more to offer as time carries on for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, so please keep on checking back in for all of those updates and the many others that we have in the works. I would like to think it will all be worth it.
