Step further behind-the-scenes with God Of War: Ragnarök and see how combat and enemies have changed since God Of War
November 9th does not seem like it is going to be getting here fast enough with each new look we have for God Of War: Ragnarök. Even with Santa Monica Studio doing all that they can to keep the leaks and spoilers at bay from various others out there. None of that will be featured on the site here. Instead, we will dig into the latest behind-the-scenes footage we have for God Of War: Ragnarök to get us all amped up for the game in a few weeks and to see how it is going to evolve things even further on the PS4 and PS5. More for the IP than the hardware, but it is all a forward progression that I am happy to get more of. This time it is about the combat and enemies out there.
We have seen quite a bit of advancement in the God Of War series up to now, with the Leviathan Axe being the most recent, but the team is always pushing forward it seems. Not only are we getting more mini-bosses in the game for us to fight, which means more screen-filling fights, but we are getting even more of a variety to square off with too. Something that will put all of the work Kratos has put in with Atreus to task, while still giving us those butt-pucker moments too. It is a little foggy on if we will be de-powered a bit from the start, or if we will just be gaining many more abilities and armor along the way to build the duo up even more. There is a little more emphasis on the shield here and it does look like there is more to the Blades of Chaos, so it could just be the rest of the world leveled up while leaving our boys just as powered as before. An interesting take if this all pans out as I see it.
In addition to that, it looks as if Atreus has further become his own person in God Of War: Ragnarök with more magic and abilities in the game than we had before. He no longer fully needs to hide behind Kratos, sure, but it looks like the normal path of growing up is here too. You know, that whole becoming your own person and bringing upon Ragnarök. That is a normal thing outside of God Of War, right? No matter the case, it looks like we might be able to use him to scout ahead and be even more useful than he was in the past game. Something he was already doing in spades before, but the various new magics and attacks could have him fully taking up a new mantel by the end of it all. Have a look and see more of the specifics if you want to see it all before getting to experience it for yourself.
God Of War: Ragnarök — Combat & Enemies Elevated
We’re heading to Alfheim, land of the elves, for Episode 2 of the God Of War: Ragnarök Behind the Scenes series.
This episode will explore how the team at Santa Monica Studio is elevating the fluid and expressive combat of God Of War: Ragnarök, as well as the importance of building a unique, memorable, and varied cast of enemies for players to test their skill against.
God Of War: Ragnarök is coming to PS4 and PS5 on November 9th!
Are you excited to see how the game further advances everything for the God Of War IP or were you hoping to just get more of the same with a different story? Will there be a de-powered part in the game so we start over as we have seen in the past titles or will this one just keep us advancing forward with newer things? How many of the gods do you think we are going to directly take on in the game and how many will be off-screen kills during the downtime the duo has had? Tell us what you are thinking about all of this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. More for God Of War: Ragnarök will be on the way here, so please keep checking back in for all of that and much, much more. I am sure you will enjoy every bit that we have out there for you.
