I knew I should have waited a bit for the news I put up before. Damn you Microsoft! But at least now I can hit up both of the music games coming out soon. Also got some cool stuff for Guitar Hero to add as well.
Official Rock Band 2 Set List!
So they finally listed the On-Disc set list for RBII. With some firsts to be listed on there as well. See the snip below. But the other big thing is that you will be able to download 20 or so free tracks once the game launches. Making the base set list for RBII over 100 or so. By base list, I mean the list that you can play when you pick up the game and do the install on your machine.
To add to that, if you own the first RB, you’ll be able to move songs from your disc to DLC for free as well. So you won’t have to swap discs to play songs that are on the first game. They are also saying that there will be over 500 songs on the game, RBII, by the end of the year. Now that’s a lot to choose from. Now if only they had an Endless Set Mode that played every song you had for the game. Think about it, RB week of nonstop playing. Now that would be an awesome marathon.
• Rock Band 2 is the first and only video game to feature the music of AC/DC. It includes their epic rock anthem, “Let There Be Rock.”
• For the first time ever, music from American music icon, Bob Dylan, is featured in a video game with “Tangled Up In Blue.”
• Rock Band 2 will feature backwards compatibility with all Rock Band downloadable music content released to date.
• Owners of the original Rock Band will have the ability to export most of the Rock Band disc tracks and upgrade them into Rock Band 2 gameplay–the first time ever in videogame history!
• With ongoing weekly DLC releases including individual tracks, track packs and full albums, the Rock Band music library will feature more than 500 songs by year’s end!

Guitar Hero News From MS Presser – Van Halen, The Eagles, Metallica
So there is some new DLC coming up for GH. A REM DLC pack is forth coming. No news on what is suppose to be on it, but it is coming. I really hate when they tease and such, and give no solid info. I would really love to know what songs are coming. Curses!
On top of the REM DLC, it would seem that Metallica is getting some new DLC as well for GH. It’s suppose to be something from the new album they have coming out. So it looks like you will be able to pirate their new work and then play it on GH. Just don’t let them know about the first part there.
Then to sweeten the deal as well, two bands have signed to be exclusive to the new Guitar Hero. Those band, The Eagles and Van Halen. Two pretty good bands for rocking to. Makes me sad that I won’t get to rock Hotel California on Rock Band, but I was already thinking of picking up the new Guitar Hero anyways. So win win I guess. I mean they don’t have some of the songs that Rock Band does. We’ll have to see I guess.
UPDATE: It looks like it will be Metallica’s entire new album, not just a few. Awesome. Hopefully it is a real album with more than 10 songs on it. We’ll have to wait and see.
