The console launch for Deceit 2 is finally here as we get more DLC and go free-to-play with Deceit 2 now
Those waiting for the console release of Deceit 2 can now kick back and be happy, as it is finally here for the PS5. Okay, so not all consoles with the Xbox Series X|S still taking a little longer, but World Makers want to get the ball rolling in one way with the consoles. Especially as it leans into the free-to-play aspect for them and the PC version out there. All to culminate with more of Deceit 2 to be in the works and keep us all playing across all of the platforms as they flow out there. We are two down now, so we need to check out what is all here and get ready to see that werewolf running about out there on all platforms too.
If you somehow missed out on it all before, Deceit 2 is a social deduction title where we have two members of our group “infected” and doing the bidding of the “game master.” Those who are not infected, or Innocent, must go through the paces of performing a ritual to save them and stop the game master in the mix. All so they can escape the area and move on to the next match. A lot like many of the other social deduction titles out there, but with different roles and actions needing to be taken along the way. You do not need to know much more about Deceit 2 outside of the fact that it is out there and you can give it a little try or stay playing it until the next big thing comes along. It is all free, so what is the harm in giving it a little bit of your time?
Deceit 2 — Console Launch
After bringing the online social deduction horror game Deceit 2 to the Free-to-Play model on Steam, World Makers is excited to announce that the Ritual is now summoned on PlayStation 5! The Xbox Series X|S version of the game will launch very soon and both platforms will maintain feature parity with Steam. Cross-play amongst all versions of the game is available, meaning that there have never been more Terrors, Innocent, and Cursed ones inside the hellish social experiment.
Deceit 2 is a matchmade social deduction horror game where two among you have been Infected. While the Infected do the bidding of the malevolent Game Master, the Innocent must work together to escape the Ritual and deduce who is plotting against them. Suspect someone? Rally your team to initiate the Banishing Ritual. To make things even more chaotic, you can now also play as a third team, the Cursed, who are solely out for themselves. When it’s time to Banish someone, choose wisely; a false accusation can sow seeds of doubt and turn allies into enemies. Your choices shape the game, making every match a unique battle of wits. Can you outplay the Game Master and escape the Ritual, or will you become another piece in his twisted game?
The recently launched Werewolf DLC, as well as all available content of Deceit 2, is also present in the PS5 version of Deceit 2, and players are able to seamlessly team up with anyone regardless of their platform. The Werewolf DLC includes the Wyrtorn Terror, a werewolf, and the first Terror to be added since the game’s initial launch. It also includes The Chemist role, a neutral Curse that must poison all other members of the group to win the Ritual. The new Project Wurgen map, available to everyone for free, is also here for the console release, and Season One, titled “Humble Beginnings”, kicks off today, bringing a myriad of new skins, loading screens, and more unlockables.
Key Features:
- Gripping matchmade social deduction game: test your strategic thinking and powers of deception.
- Dynamic social sandbox: an ever-changing set of tools and scenarios ensure that every Ritual is always different.
- Rewards that keep coming: progression keeps the hunt for cosmetics fun, and new Seasons bring themed rewards, both free and with the Season Pass.

Will you be diving into Deceit 2 now that it is free or have you been playing before now? Will these new features and platforms offer up a different way to experience it all or will it still flow about the same? How long will this one stay alive with content updates or will the free-to-play model have it fall flat in short order? Head into the comments to discuss and let the world know what you are thinking about all of this. We will have more for Deceit 2 if there is more out there for it. We might even give it a try with a bit of a livestream too. You will need to keep checking back to see and hear about all of that.
