A new puzzle game, Corporeal, is announced with players going through Corporeal to solve a new paranormal mystery
It feels like we are just wrapping up even more horror out there in our video games space well after the usual time, and this one is with an announcement for Corporeal. This is a new paranormal mystery narrative puzzle game on the way to the PC from Cold Out Interactive. That sure is a lot to say for the game right out of the gate. Then we get to mix in the fact that Corporeal also revolves around a haunted family photo album that we are piecing back together in the game. A whole lot more, but something new and maybe creepier than we could have thought in the mix of the many other titles that we have out there in the genre. Let us dig in and see what else there is with this announcement…
Along with all of the other aspects mentioned above, Corporeal will have us sifting through a bunch of photographs from the late-90s from locations in New Zealand. From there, we will need to manipulate and sort the pictures into some kind of order to craft a narrative for each scene and lead us further into the story. Also, to alter some of the narratives along the way which could have us finding more secrets or specters in the mix of it all. A fairly straightforward task and with a fairly similar trailer to look at as we get ready to see how all of these pictures will fall into some kind of place. Have a look at it just a little lower down and see if this is going to be another title that you want to add to the indie mix of games you have in your library. At least when it does launch out there.
Corporeal — Announcement
Corporeal is a paranormal mystery narrative puzzle game where you piece together a haunted family photo album. As the sole survivor of unexplained events in the mid-90s, you search for answers in an archive of photographs rescued from the ruins of your childhood home. Manipulate the past, encounter specters, and map your cursed family history.
- Unravel a mystery set in late-90s New Zealand captured with live-action photography.
- Navigate a series of immersive retro analog interfaces.
- Manipulate photographs in tactile, minimalist puzzles, where you combine images of the past to create new scenes.
- Solve non-linear puzzles, alter the narrative, and discover hidden secrets and specters.
Do you like the sound of what Corporeal is doing or does it sound too basic for your tastes? Does this mean that we could have different endings in the game or will it still play out linearly no matter how we solve the scenes? Will the specters be more than jump scares for us in the game or will that be more of how we fail certain events? Take a shot at leaving your thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. More for Corporeal should be on the way out there for us as development continues. That said, please keep on checking back in for all of that and the many, many more bits of news we are going to have to share with the world out there. It should be a fun little adventure to have indeed.
