It has been announced that Conan Exiles will be heading into early access in September and we have new Conan Exiles gameplay to look at in celebration
It’s been a while since we heard anything on Conan Exiles and now we have news on when we will get to play the game. It’s not a solid release date for the game but there is news out of Funcom that the game is going to be hitting Early Access for the PC version of the game. That is not to say that Conan Exiles isn’t still coming for the PS4 and Xbox One but given the state of things in video games it makes sense here and now we can get ready to give the game an early play on September 13th. At least if the PC version is your chosen platform to give the game a whirl.
In addition to the announcement of the Early Access gameplay of Conan Exiles it looks like we are also getting a new pre-alpha trailer for the game that shows off just about what we can expect the game to play like. Of course this is pre-alpha and with the Early Access taking suggestions for tweaks and changes from the community this may be nothing like what we will get when the game fully launches but we do have a nice early look at where the game is at this moment. Have a look at what we have in terms of pre-alpha gameplay here.
Conan Exiles — Pre-Alpha Trailer
“We’re very excited (and a bit nervous) about launching our first Early Access title,” said Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “The team wants to give the players the best possible experience, and while we are used to working on a game for several years before letting players in, this time around we will let players in just nine months after development started! As with any Early Access games, some features and content will be more finalized than others, and players will be able to help us focus on what’s important to them so that we can improve the game and flesh out content and systems before full launch.”
I’ll be honest here but Conan Exiles does look like an upgraded version of Age Of Conan to me. While I do see the additions of the crafting and building systems here in the pre-alpha trailer the rest of it looks like just some solid upgrades. I guess you could even look at the extra systems the same way but all of this is an amazing thing to me and not just some form of HD cash grab as many others who do the same thing are going for. Even though this may be nowhere near where we will end up with Conan Exiles I am fully excited to see where this game goes in the near future.
Are you glad to see Conan Exiles hitting Early Access on September 13the? Does it just look like and upgraded version of their last Conan title or does it look like a fully new IP to you? How much do you think things will change between now and the full release of the game? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below.
