A new horror title, Among The Whispers: Provocation, is on the way with us needing to hunt more ghosts in Among The Whispers
The horrors of the other side of the veil are coming at us one more time with another video game announced by the way of Among The Whispers: Provocation. The next title coming from D&A Studios for the PC where the ghosts and horrors of hunting them will come to life one more time. All with a bit of a different take on things where we will not only need to survive the ghosts in Among The Whispers but will be able to bring them down as we so wish to do. As far as the announcement for it all goes, at least. We will have to wait until we get to see the game in more motion down the line when a release date is announced for it all.
In Among The Whispers: Provocation, we take on the role of a young woman named Stephanie who happens to be looking for answers with her own brush with the supernatural world. This will take her on a first-person single-player adventure to search homes and other locations for some kind of clues. Clues that will lead to another mansion in the horror world and we all know where that usually goes. In addition to all of this, she will need to use her ability to communicate with the ghosts to learn about them and how she might be able to free them in the afterlife. So, Among The Whispers is less of a hunting of them and more of a saving them if we are not brought down by the other things that are going bump in the night out there.
Among The Whispers: Provocation — Announcement
Immerse yourself in a first-person single-player ghost investigation experience. Use essential paranormal tools to investigate ghosts. Learn their stories. Release them to the afterlife.
Among The Whispers: Provocation immerses you into a first-person single-player ghost investigation experience.
You play as Stephanie, a determined young woman looking for answers to her own harrowing brush with the supernatural. Her search has led her through several homes and locations in the quiet town of New Eidolon and now to a labyrinthine mansion on Magnificent Drive. You’ll need to employ various provocations to learn about the entities that plague this location and what binds them here.
Provocations will coax ghosts in various ways to communicate or manifest. The more you discover, the more provocations you will learn. However, beware, trying to provoke a ghost while unprepared can lead to psychological consequences that could make the investigation harder.
Your goal is to unearth the ghosts’ history, find their relics, and perform the rituals releasing them into the afterlife.
If you dare, explore the mansion to learn about the dark secrets it has been hiding for generations. Find the clues to slowly piece together the sinful past this family has endured.
Key Features:
- Provocations: Various provocations can be used to manifest ghosts in different ways. Learn new provocations as you discover new details on your investigation.
- Procedural Investigations: The Gilded Age mansion has been around for many generations and each game procedurally generates the entire family tree. This consists of their life, death, and hobbies, which are valuable clues in determining which ghosts are present in the house. Additionally, the type of ghosts and their haunting locations are procedurally generated.
- Passive Story Telling: Several objects are scattered throughout the mansion, which are puzzle pieces about the sinful past the family has kept secret for generations. As you find these objects you will be able to piece together the story.
So far, Among The Whispers: Provocation feels like a by-the-numbers horror walking simulation title with the chance of giving us some fun, new frights. I am interested in seeing if we will be able to save and free all of the ghosts we come across out there or if that will only be for a few and leave the others to keep us running for our lives. It does say it is all procedurally generated, so I have a feeling it will be more of an attack in Among The Whispers and less of a saving them down the line. I wait to be pleasantly surprised by it all and see if the game will shake the genre up and offer us all a new experience we usually never do get out there.
What do you think about Among The Whispers as it all stands here? Will we be able to save more than banish or will that be a little hard to let happen given how the game is designed? Could Stephanie be dead this whole time and trying to figure out how to fully pass on? Let us know your thoughts about this and everything else that we have to share for the title out there. We will have what we can for Among The Whispers: Provocation, so please keep on coming back here to see and hear it all.
