More gameplay for A Plague Tale: Requiem is here to expand further on the new mechanics coming to A Plague Tale
The gameplay keeps on rolling out there for A Plague Tale: Requiem but this time, we get a bit more of the finer details as to what is going on now. Much of it all has been speculation based on what Asobo Studio has dropped out there for us all and with October 18th rushing up on us, it is nice to finally get some validation to some of the new changes. That is what we have here for the new video for A Plague Tale: Requiem even if there are more broad strokes over it all still, but this time it feels like it is to keep the wonder and mystery of the game hidden and not to obfuscate anything else. It is now time to get fully ready for the game to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
As we had assumed before, the game is picking up shortly after the events of A Plague Tale: Innocence. We are talking a few months after as the crew that survived the last game are heading out to find lands that are not plague-ridden or filled with war. That and a way to save Hugo from the illness that he is now infected with. The same one that allowed him to control some of the swarms and will certainly be getting an upgrade in A Plague Tale: Requiem. This would be the mechanic we have seen before where Hugo can see and control them all still. It just looks like it will be a limited-use element, as each time it will take a toll on Hugo. If that is a cooldown bar or a specific number of uses in the game, that is still to be seen. We just know it is not going to be used in scripted scenes only now.
In addition to this, we get a little more of a look at how Amicia has leveled up from A Plague Tale: Innocence. Amicia will have a few more weapons to use along the way now that she has been hardened to the life they all live now. This includes the use of more explosives and other weaponry along the way that the crew will pick up from fallen soldiers. It also looks like we will be given more ways to attack the guards and enemies of the world given that we can employ some bombs more to diffuse light and allow the rats to go get a tasty treat. Not to mention that we can set more things ablaze with other gear bits in A Plague Tale: Requiem to open up more paths and options along the way. Have a look and see how these new items have been expanded even further.

New horizons and new tricks
Embark on Hugo and Amicia’s next journey and venture south of 14th century France, before setting sail to a mysterious island out in the Mediterranean Sea. Brave a terrible fate and find a cure for Hugo’s illness thanks to Amicia’s new resources—including the use of alchemy to manipulate fire and the long-distance power of a crossbow, but also her cunning use of terrain and ability to wrestle out of an enemy’s grasp. Choose to strike from the shadow or to unleash hell, with the help of Hugo’s new powers: to perceive surrounding enemies’ movements while moving stealthily, and to manipulate hordes of rats to decimate entire squads of soldiers.
Play a demo at Gamescom!

Another demo will be shared with the press attending Gamescom, letting them experience the level seen in the Extended Gameplay Trailer hands-on.
The tale behind the game

Does all of this make perfect sense to you in the A Plague Tale world now or do you still need more gameplay to get you ready for the launch? How many different lands do you think the crew will get to see along the way and how many will not make it to see them too? How often do you think we can spam Hugo’s new powers or will we only get a limited number of uses and then it is game over for Hugo? Go ahead and let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish to. We will keep the news for A Plague Tale: Requiem flowing out there, so be sure to keep a close eye on the site for all of that and much, much more.
