A new Layers Of Fear project is in the works with the Layers Of Fear team using the Unreal Engine 5 to build it
It has had a sequel, it has gone into VR, and now we get another outing into the Layers Of Fear IP. Well, another outing in 2022 with the announcement that Bloober Team is working on another title in the line. Another title that could take us down some familiar paths from the previous Layers Of Fear titles or into some new territory. It is hard to tell at this point as we have very little to go on for the game at this point. Just that one is coming and when the team suspects it will be ready for the masses. Gods I hate when games go down this path in general. It does give us something to look forward to at the very least.
While this is a basic announcement for a new Layers Of Fear, there is a bit more to take in for all of this right now. Like the fact that it will be made with the Unreal Engine 5 and all of the bells and whistles it currently can offer up to the team. That makes it easy to also make the assumption that this Layers Of Fear will hit the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X at a minimum. Granted, this could also just be a full remaster and remake for the title and we are getting excited over nothing. I say this as the following teaser really just offers us a feel for the artist going back through the same horrors as before. Just with some vastly superior visuals in the mix. Have a look and get ready for the teasing to start up.
Layers Of Fear — New Project
Layers Of Fear was a breakthrough project for us. Now we return to this universe. Check out this Unreal Engine 5 teaser trailer for clues on what this new, yet-to-be-titled project could be!
The first Layers Of Fear, released in 2016, made waves in the gaming industry with its unique take on the first-person psychological horror experience told from the point of view of a painter obsessively trying to finish his Magnum Opus—no matter the cost. This award-winning title successfully created a new direction for both the Bloober Team and the psychological horror genre that increased its popularity in the mainstream gaming community. Layers Of Fear was later expanded with a story DLC titled Inheritance.
How do you feel about Layers Of Fear getting another entry into the IP and will it expand on the horror genre in general? Do you think this could be just a remake, or remaster of the older titles, or will it be a fully new project in the mix? What platforms do you suspect it will hit out there given the state of things and the tools being used? Tell us all what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If we have anything further to share for this Layers Of Fear, we will update it all here. Just be sure to keep checking back for all of that and much, much more.
