A New Name & New Footage Is Here For Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach — State Of Play

The name for Death Stranding 2 has changed a bit as we watch Death Stranding 2: On The Beach ask some new questions for the world

Things are getting weirder and things are changing up for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Yes, that is now the new name of the game that Kojima Productions is going with for this PS5 exclusive title. A bit of a reference to the last game as well as a showing of what we are going to be doing in the upcoming game. Although, it does look as if Death Stranding 2 is still going to be leaning toward the reconnecting of humanity but going a bit more global than we did before. It is not just the United States they are aiming for, but more of the world. All while seeing all of the other weird and crazy shit that the developer wants to throw into the game to seem as if they are more of a genius while making the masses scratch their heads.

Below there is a nice and long video for Death Stranding 2 that shows off that we will still be out there in the world making deliveries to an extent but also going out there to fight off some of the crazier things and humans out there. It seems that the robotic delivery tech has been upgraded so to make sure Sam is still relevant in the mix of things, there might be more of a play towards the connection Sam had with the other side of it all. Also, while asking if we should have tried to reconnect the world in the first place. Have a look and see as they bring these faces and voices to life while trying to make us all scratch our heads as to what is going on. Also to ask the question of “why?” when it comes to some of the things in the game.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach — State Of Play

Kojima Productions revealed the latest trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to Death Stranding at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play confirming the title of the game, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, arriving exclusively on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

In Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam — with companions by his side — sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles, and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach sees Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker return to Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying universe. They will be joined by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller.

To this day, I do not understand why many humans out there find the weird things the developer does to be so “profound” in gaming. Sure, I did enjoy Death Stranding in terms of the gameplay more than I thought I would, but the story and world that was out there felt like it was weird just to be weird. Nothing more than a gimmick to make those who thought they knew what was going on to feel special. That is not to say that I will not be giving Death Stranding 2 a solid play when it does come, but just as before, I will question why we are so excited to see weird things that have no context of meaning and call it a move of a genius. Maybe I am just out of touch with the masses…

How do you feel about the change of name that Death Stranding 2 has had and will it make any sense if you did not pick up on things in the first game? Will this be more of an action game now that it sounds like the basics many came to love in the first game are no longer needed in the game’s world? Why does everyone latch onto the weird things in these games as if it is some stroke of a masterpiece when it is just odd for the sake of being odd? Head into the comment section to let us know those thoughts while also discussing everything else we have. We know there will be more weirdness for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach on the way, and we will have it here for you. You just need to keep on coming back in here to see and hear about all of it in the coming year.
