Learn more about the world of Hela, with a deep dive into the gameplay coming in Hela: Of Mice & Magic
It’s been a good while since we updated anything for Hela: Of Mice & Magic here. In fact, the last time we did this was before Windup added to the game’s title and made it what it is now. Not only that, but we’ve seen a lot out there from Knights Peak to get us ready for December 1st when the game lands on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s see what Hela: Of Mice & Magic is all about after all of this time and development that’s gone into it. Especially since it looks like we have much more to dive into than we all might have originally thought was coming in a game where we are playing as mice familiars to the witch of the lands.
After all of the development for Hela: Of Mice & Magic, here we get to see how our two little mice will be setting out into the world to help complete a few tasks that our elderly witch can’t do herself. She is a benevolent witch, and the town and forest do love her, so it’s up to us to make certain that we are helping out as she would like to. That will include exploring the areas of the world, learning about all of the denizens, and helping them out as we might need to. This will, in turn, offer up new allies and other things for us to explore in Hela: Of Mice & Magic to keep the platforming and narrative gameplay flowing forward. All with a cozy little feel to the world and setting of it all. Given that we’re trying to restore the harmony of this world, that all makes perfect sense for us all to be doing and experiencing in the mix. You can have a little taste of all of that in the video below, then get ready to take part in it all in just under a month.
Hela: Of Mice & Magic — Stories Of Hela
At its heart, Hela: Of Mice & Magic is a warm story about helping others, finding meaning in small acts of kindness, and caring for the world around you. A kind-hearted witch has watched over the land for centuries — but now something has fallen out of tune. Growing ill and unable to make the journey herself, she turns to the smallest of helpers: her mouse familiars. That is where your adventure begins. Restoring harmony, however, will take more than repeating what came before. The old melody is no longer enough — the mice will have to help the land find a new one.
On their journey, players will discover the many lives and heartfelt stories that make up the world of Hela. Guided by letters that still find their way to the witch’s cottage, they will meet people throughout the land, lend a tiny helping paw when it is needed most, and befriend the creatures of the forest — while encounters such as the mysterious Ritual Keeper reach further into the land’s past and its ancient magic. Whenever players return home, the witch will have stories of her own to share, turning even the smallest discovery into part of a much greater story.
