The launch of Jason into Dead By Daylight is finally here, to help kick off all of the new fun for Dead By Daylight
The big day is finally here, as Jason is now stalking the Fog within Dead By Daylight. The new killer is out there as part of the big things coming to the game from Behaviour, and we have one small look at the hockey mask just before he will be slaying all of the Survivors in the summer camps. Also, a little look to see how this version of Jason will be different in Dead By Daylight from the other asymmetrical horror games we have seen Jason in. So many of us miss Friday The 13th: The Game, so hopefully this will give us all that taste of blood once more on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. If not, we do know that there will be a lot more to come to the game in the coming months.
The mention of the other title outside of Dead By Daylight is not just a slight little jab, as it does look and sound as if there might be a few things that inspired some of what Jason will do in the game. Specifically, I’m looking at the Jump Scare power that Jason will have in the game. One that seems to allow the player to be invisible for a while, but when triggering the power, Jason will spring into sight, smash through specific barricades, and go in for the final hook. Sure, this all feels just as the character would outside of Dead By Daylight, but it is going to get called out by players who have tried all of the games. That is not to say that it won’t work well, and I’m looking forward to giving it a go, but just worth noting. Just as it’s worth noting that you can see a bit of it in action with the following launch trailer for Jason… if you’re not just going to snag the character for use and play it right now.
Dead By Daylight — Jason Launch Trailer
Summer camps, hockey masks, and machetes have never been the same…
Dead By Daylight: Jason brings the legendary horror icon into The Fog.
Trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil where even death is not an escape, four determined Survivors face a bloodthirsty Killer in a vicious game of nerve and wits. Pick a side and step into a world of tension and terror with horror gaming’s best asymmetrical multiplayer.
Power [Omnipresent Evil]
- Become Invisible and gain Undetectable.
- Lose the ability to see Survivors and Scratch Marks, but not Footprints.
- Special Ability: Impaling Throw — Grab a Projectile from Scrap Piles or Hooks around the Map. Hit Survivors with a Projectile to injure them and knock them back. Impale a Survivor and Pin Them Down by knocking them into an object or surface. Healthy Survivors can only be Impaled by a Hook Projectile.
- Special Ability: Jump Scare — While in Omnipresent Evil, look at a Pallet, Breakable Wall, or Vault Location. Instantly move to it and perform a Break or Vault action. Reveal the location of nearby Survivors with Killer Instinct.
Perks:
- Hex: Scared To Death: Hook a variety of victims to awaken a Dull Totem. While active, breaking a Pallet during a chase will cause nearby Survivors to scream and briefly slow down.
- Silent Shadow: Whenever you hook a Survivor, you gain Undetectable for 11/12/13s. When all Generators are completed, you gain Undetectable.
- Rampage: Break Pallets and Breakable Walls to amass up to 13 Tokens. Whenever you are blinded or stunned, each token will contribute to a brief Haste boost.
Are you excited to get to experience Jason in the Dead By Daylight universe? Will the character truly feel unique, or will there always be a comparison to the other game? Do you think that the invisibility will lead to a lot of great jump scares in the matches? Will we ever get to see more of the iconic characters from the IP loading into this universe? Let’s hear it all out in the comment section further down the page here. We’re always watching Dead By Daylight, and have seen that there’s still so much more to come. We’ll have it all here on the site as soon as we can, so please keep your eyes open for that. You might also want to stalk our socials to see when we have it all go love. That would be the best way to make sure you are not getting surprised by not knowing something is coming.
