Walk A Bit Further Into Some Dark With The Announcement Of Flick

Flick — Announcement

A new horror title, Flick, has been announced and will be giving us a new Flick gameplay mechanic to play with

Let’s all get ready to wander about another dark house using a bodycam, with the recent announcement for Flick. A new title coming to the PC from Inqdrop Studios that will be leaning into that formula that we have seen, only this one will have a little bit of a new mechanic, those shooter games don’t. As the title for Flick implies, we will be able to flick those switches in the house to not only turn on lights, but to shift reality itself. Something that I am certain will lean further into the whole horror aspect of things, while keeping the entire game feeling fresh with each switch that we hit. It might not be much, but it does change things up just enough for us all.

As the story goes here in Flick, we have set out to do some exploring into a home that has had a rather shady past. One that is filled with all manner of tragedy and gruesomeness. Things will happen to keep us locked in the house, and we must take charge to try to escape it all. That is where the “Flick” mechanic will come in. As we explore the house, we’ll come across various scenes and puzzles to figure out, and not drive us insane. Flipping the light switches in these rooms will shift reality and show new things, move them around, and the like. All so we can better puzzle it together and make it out of the fractured storyline that’s presented to us. Since this is an announcement, there’s not a whole lot more to share beyond what we can all see in the following video for the game. Have a look to see if it will shake things up enough in this genre to pull more horror fans in deeper.

Flick — Announcement

Flick is a first-person body-cam horror game scientifically engineered to spike feelings of dread. “Flick” light switches on and off within a long-abandoned house to instantly shift the environment from a safe reality to a blood-soaked echo where grisly puzzles manifest. But every flick of the switch is a gamble, for within the haunted memories of the house, something from the deep past has awoken…

MECHANICS

Explore an oppressive home that serves as a physical record of past tragedies. What appears as a quiet, abandoned hallway in the dark twists into a gruesome tableau of atrocities the moment you flick the light switch. Wander through these fractured realities and sift through the blood and madness of the past to find a way out of the present.

Progress by flicking each room’s light switches on and off. Toggling the lights alters the state of the room, shifting from a safe, clean reality to a horrific echo where keys, tools, and hidden paths manifest. But progress requires courage…

Something twisted is hunting you through the house, following the echo of your footsteps and the memories unearthed by the lights. However, you need the light to progress, making every flick of the switch a gamble that might summon the very terror trying to tear you apart.

CORE FEATURES:

  • Reality Shifting: Toggling a light switch instantly alters a room from a safe reality to a horrifying echo where critical items and mind-bending puzzles manifest.
  • Fractured Storyline: Search through the remnants of your family’s desperate escape and unearth the sickening history of those who resided here long before you.
  • Immersive Environments: Navigate highly detailed, oppressive rooms where atmospheric lighting and deep shadows conceal threats around every corner.

Do you like the sound and twist that we are getting to the bodycam genre here with Flick? Will the horror be elevated due to the camera style in this one? How many times will we need to flip the switches to solve the puzzles, and will they reset after a set amount of time? Are we going to be able to fight back in this title, or will we always need to be on the run from the horrors within? Let’s hear it all out in the comment section down the page here. For more on Flick, you can follow the site or all of our socials to see when we have something new to share. It sounds interesting, so I’ll be keeping an eye on it. Maybe even a few others around here might want to check it out as well.
