BeastLink Brings More Kaiju To Another Massive Video Game Fight

BeastLink — Teaser

Head into a playtest for BeastLink to see just how the Kaiju fights will play out before the Early Access for BeastLink

Get yourself ready for some massive fights out there in the streets, with BeastLink bringing us exactly that right now. At least for a little bit, with a closed playtest that Grove Street Games is hosting for the PC world out there. That is to get us all ready for this Summer when the Early Access opens up for the consoles and the PC. That all might be getting ahead of ourselves, though, as there might be a few of you who have no idea what BeastLink actually is. So, let’s dive into that so you might be better able to judge if you are going to want to buy in on all of this right now, or just wait until the game is fully ready to explore and play with those massive Kaiju the game keeps talking about.

So, BeastLink is a multiplayer title where we will be playing as normal humans in a fully destructible world. Well, as normal as they can be while running around an urban environment, gathering resources, surviving a Kaiju attack, and fighting back with some basic weapons and vehicles in the mix. The bigger twist to all of this is that when one of these Kaiju is brought down or if we find one sleeping, we can link into them and control them. All of that to turn the tables of the match in BeastLink, as we can now be the destroyer of everything. Against the world and other Kaiju that might still be roaming the area. That part is a little muddy, but it does look as if we can play out some of the massive monster fights as we so wish to. Even if there will only be four different ones from the launch of the game.

Grove Street Games, the technical force behind ARK: Survival Ascended and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, announced its first new IP in over a decade: BeastLink. A large-scale multiplayer destruction sandbox, BeastLink combines tactical human-led missions and vehicular combat with the city-destroying, raw power of colossal Kaiju. BeastLink is monster-sized mayhem on an unprecedented scale coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam PC.

BeastLink launches into early access on console and PC this summer, with the first of several upcoming closed beta weekends kicking off Friday, May 8th. Players can sign up now for the closed Playtest on Steam.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, the core of BeastLink is Grove Street’s proprietary SuperDestruction system that pushes environmental wreckage to a new level. This fully networked, physics-based system lets every player reshape the map as both human or Kaiju. With over 250,000 destructible objects and tens of millions of individual pieces, players can strategically reshape entire city blocks, turning urban environments into tactical rubble.

BeastLink drops players into massive, urban environments under siege by a variety of Kaiju. Players will navigate collapsing cityscapes on foot or choose from a variety of vehicles. They battle both human forces and roaming monsters to gather resources, which fuel an experimental procedure to Link with sleeping Kaiju. Once the BeastLink is established, the perspective shifts from tactical survival to city-shaking power as players tear through buildings and engage in massive, real-time monster brawls.

Each Kaiju offers a distinct playstyle, including the four launch creatures: Horned Lizard, Bull Shark, Vampire Bat, and Mandrill. Whether you prefer brute force, aerial attacks, or speed-based combat, every match changes how you approach both combat and movement across the city.

Does BeastLink sound like it will be a fun title to experience, or does it feel a little too much like a gimmick? Do you think we’ll see more Kaiju as the development pushes forward? How will the Early Access work for console gamers when compared to PC gamers? Will there be a cross-play option when it all comes out there? Let’s hear it all out in the comment section down below. The fun of BeastLink is currently happening each weekend, and the Early Access is not too far off, so we expect to see a little more slipping out there in the world. We’ll have it all on the site for you or shared on our socials, so please follow along to see and hear all of that as it flows out there. It should be a blast when it all does.
