The next developer diary for 007 First Light is out there, and we have another focus on the story we are getting in 007 First Light
It definitely feels like we have heard a lot of the story when it comes to 007 First Light, and here we go with even more. Although this time, we are heading further behind-the-scenes with IO Interactive to learn how they crafted it all, went with the characters they did, selected the villains, and why we are getting a younger James Bond in the game. Not just because it would be fun to watch him earn the number, but also give us something that feels different than what they have done for so long already. So, kick back and get ready for the new deep dive into 007 First Light before it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on May 27th. Maybe you’ll also learn a bit more than you have already for this story.
Just as we have heard ad nauseam so far for 007 First Light, this will be the early days for James as a 26-year-old agent. Less dignified, cultured, and learned, but also a little cockier and more risk-taking. That said, the story doesn’t seem to be taking place in the past of the IP, but more in a modern setting where the question about tech being able to do the same job, or a better job, is in the mix. So, we’ll have that little struggle in the mix, along with the look at how James will be altering the views of MI6 from the more data and risk-averse organization that they have been for a while now. This does beg the question of how 007 First Light will fit into the bigger story out there with the weird timelines, but if the game is good enough, I’m sure we can all ignore that and just take it for the merit it will have. Go on and watch the longer version of the story developer diary down below if you want to know more.

Will it be weird for you to experience 007 First Light, given the setting we are going to have? Will any of this link up to the main stories that have been told over the decades? Should the game have been left in a “timeless” setting, or will this be the start of other IPs aiming for more of the same when it comes to prequels? Are you glad that the team made a big distinction between James and Agent 47, given how close the games look to be? Let’s hear it all out in the comment section. There’s still so much more for 007 First Light to come, and we’ll have it all here on the site.
