Get ready to be one of the things that goes bump in the night in Nightholme, as we have a little bit of gameplay to take in to see just where the game is in development. Not to mention, a solid look at just what the game is going to be for those who aren’t fully up on the works of Studio Ellipsis. The short version is that Nightholme is a new multiplayer horror hunt title coming to the PC, but that is the true basics. If that gets your engines going and you need more now, well, that’s just what we have with over 9 minutes of gameplay to look at. As the team walks us through just what we are seeing and going to experience once the game gets out of that alpha stage that it’s currently in. Let’s have a solid look now.

The first thing of note here in Nightholme is that we can choose to go in with a team or go in alone as our hunter to do the various things available in the world. Like hunt down big bosses or Gloomfiends, complete some quests, or just do some of the basic scavenging around to find things to boost ourselves. If not in the world, then with others roaming about. Thus, going after some true game in the mix, although the game doesn’t make that an easy task, as the audio is very proximity-based, so we are going to have to play it safe. All while managing our character in level, skills, and various other hindrances to make sure that Nightholme is balanced. Even if there is a chance to get some massive boosts in the game by hunting down bigger monsters and finding some Terror Seeds in the world. Then we just rinse and repeat all of that, and we have our multiplayer game loop set. Have a look at how that will flow in the following video we have to share.

This early look guides you through how a match unfolds, as you descend into a hungry city and wake what sleeps in the deepest dark. Along the way, you’ll glimpse the creatures stalking its streets and a few of the risks, rituals, and ruinous little pleasures that define our cosmic horror playground.

Nightholme is still in development. What you see here is a work in progress, still twitching on the slab. Features may shift, systems may evolve, and horrors are sure to multiply.

Well then. Reach into the dark. That’s where the fun begins.

Where do you stand on Nightholme as you see it here? Will these new features help it stand out from the other titles like it that are still going, or have failed? Can we play with our volume completely off and mics linked outside of the game to make sure nothing is heard? Do you think the closed beta will give the team more to work with, or is the game in a state where that will be more of a server test than anything? Assault the comments with all of those thoughts you have, so we can all discuss them. We are going to keep watch for more about Nightholme, so please keep watch on the site for those updates. If not here, then on our socials to make sure you know when to come back and check it all out.
