You Might Be Able To Play Your Xbox Games Without A Console Or PC Soon

Xbox Coming To Select Hisense

A new platform for the Xbox cloud gaming is on the way, with a new partnership announced for Xbox during CES

It seemed like it was something that might never have come, but it looks like you might not need anything by a TV screen to play your favorite Xbox games again. Not that we won’t have the Xbox Series X|S and PC as options to play, still. Also, maybe a new system that has yet to be announced as well. No, as it seems, a new partnership could see some smart TVs this year have the ability to play the cloud streaming versions of our games without anything but a controller. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 are among those listed, but anyone familiar with the Game Pass subscription will know that those are only a few of the many titles that could become available without the need for anything but your home entertainment center.

For many of us, this might be some basic news that won’t affect us since we’ve had an Xbox system or a way to play the games already. This new partnership will expand to many who have been curious about gaming but never wanted to have a dedicated machine for it. Given that many out their own some form of smart TV, this is an easier sell to get them in. Even if this is the same ploy that we have seen a few other cloud gaming services try in the past. Granted, Xbox Game Pass has been rather successful up to now, so maybe this will be the sign that the console wars are on the way out. especially, since this would all be streaming your games and you wouldn’t be owning them directly. Not to mention that it all requires a high-speed connection to have a great experience. Unless they have figured out that little speedbump for us all, this just seems like one more way to play and not a replacement. We’ll find out soon when the first ones start showing up, and the final details are shared with the world.

Xbox To Bring Cloud Gaming To Select Hisense And V homeOS-Powered Smart TVs

As we step into the new year, many of us are looking for fresh ways to play, connect, and explore. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new partnership with V (formerly VIDAA) that expands where your gaming adventures can happen: the Xbox app is coming to select Hisense and V homeOS-powered Smart TVs in 2026.

This partnership is all about giving you more freedom and flexibility to play how you want. Xbox Game Pass subscribers – including Ultimate, Premium, and Essential subscribers – will be able to stream hundreds of games, from new releases to fan favorites, directly through the Xbox app on supported TVs via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

With the Xbox app, you’ll be able to explore a variety of great games, including Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and many more. As an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ll also unlock unlimited cloud gaming, giving you the flexibility to play games across different devices, including select games you already own. It’s all about giving you more freedom to play your way.

Expanding the Xbox Cloud Ecosystem

Our vision is to make sure your games, your community, and your achievements are always within reach. Bringing the Xbox app to select Hisense and V homeOS-powered TVs is another step toward making gaming available across a broad range of devices, to meeting you wherever you want to play. More details on the Xbox Cloud Gaming experience with Hisense TVs in the coming months.

Would you want to play your Xbox games in this way? Will it be a system that we see the company push forward with to offer an experience for more people to play the games? Is this a sign that they want to make it so we are only renting our games going forward and never truly owning them? How will this work for those who have the funds to get a great TV but lack the infrastructure to have high-speed connections? Let’s discuss this in the comment section a bit more and see what updates flow out from all of this. It feels like a great move for the company, but it could also be the decline for many gamers out there. As long as we use it as an option to play our games and not a full replacement, I have a feeling it will be fine. We’ll update you here and on our socials once we get the finer details, so keep a watchful eye.
