The Terminator is out there again, with the launch of Terminator 2D: No Fate on all of the platforms
The time to set the fate of humanity is almost here, with Terminator 2D: No Fate on the verge of launching out there on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. A fun little retelling of the events of the film that Reef Entertainment and Bitmap Bureau have been building for us over the last year, and on December 12th, we will finally get to take a shot with it all. All in the 2D format that the arcade game some might have remembered at the time of the film’s release, but with the Terminator 2 fully getting to play out here at our hands. A story that we can actually alter along the way, and it looks as if John might actually get to die. Although that feels like it will be more of a Game Over scenario, with the other endings that are possible stemming from other choices we might make along the way.
Since Terminator 2D: No Fate is so close to launching out there, that means that we do have a fun little video to look at for the game to build up some hype. Hype and to give us all another view of how the gameplay will flow when we do get our hands on the game. It is a 2D side-scroller, and it looks like it will be handling certain scenes by placing things on different floors, even though they all show up as one in the film. It is a liberty that I am fine with, as long as we get to actually have the fun that we can imagine from it all. Maybe not the fun of running from the Terminator, but the fun of making the choices and seeing if we can help keep humanity alive for a few more years. Have a look at how the game has shaped up and make sure you have your trusty puppy with you to help call out the robots as they come for us. Although that doesn’t seem like it is going to be a thing in the game here from the video.
Terminator 2D: No Fate — Launch Trailer
The past and the future collide in Terminator 2D: No Fate, an officially licensed 2D side-scroller bringing classic arcade action to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on December 12th, 2025!
Play as Sarah Connor and the T-800 through a variety of thrilling missions as they take on the T-1000 and try to put a stop to Skynet’s plans before the human race is annihilated. Lead the Resistance as John Connor in the future, fighting on the front lines as mankind’s only hope in the War Against the Machines.
In this unique story blending iconic scenes from ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ with original scenarios and multiple endings, humanity’s fate is yours to decide.
How do you think this will allow us to deviate from the Terminator 2 storyline? Will the death of John be something that will just give us a Game Over screen? Will there be an option to allow humanity to just die in the story? How do you feel about the different floors being used in the game instead of giving us one long hallway? Let’s talk about all of that in the comments below. Since Terminator 2D: No Fate is going to be out there on Friday, most likely there won’t be much more to share with you. If there is, we’ll have it all here on the site and our socials for you. Just be sure to keep following along for all of that and everything else that we can bring to you. Everything from the big titles to the smaller ones, we’ll cover it all.
