Some new threats and anomalies are on the way to Phantom Line, as we all get ready to take on a whole new playtest for Phantom Line
It is time to wake right back up and get ready for another play test on the way for Phantom Line. The little co-op shooter set in the liminal spaces beyond our reality that Antistatic Studios has been crafting is further evolving, and that means more things to play with. As long as you can hold out until March 5th to do all of that on your PC. That feels like such a long wait to get to see all of the new threats and anomalies out there in Phantom Line, but they need to build that hype up somehow. Along with making sure we are all trained up to head into the creepy spaces to try and outlive everything with our squad of up to four players. Let’s see what is going to try and help us end with all of our living out there in the game when this does fire off.
The finer details for all of these new things coming to Phantom Line are still a bit obfuscated, given how long we have to wait for them, but we do get to see some of them in action in a new video that the studio has out there. Most of them look and feel like other horrors we might have seen in games like BioShock, but set in this new “other world” for us to survive. The organization collecting all of this data is relying on us, so we will need to make sure our base is upgraded and our team is fully kitted out. Especially since it does look as if Phantom Line will be throwing newer biomes at us that might just require specialized gear to survive. As if the giant floating heads or stalking hunters weren’t already bad enough for us all to survive. It does feel like this is how the world is always going to be, so we might as well take aim and rush right in so we can solve many more of the mysteries that those in charge never want us to understand. As if sharing information is a terrible thing out there.
Phantom Line — New Anomalies & Threats
Wake up, soldiers!
It has been a few months since your last mission. During your time in the freezer, we have built a new training facility for you and your team. You will now train under my direct supervision. You need to be prepared for your deployment on March 5th, 2026.
The world is not a safe place anymore. There are more anomalies appearing each day – supernatural activity hidden from the public eye. We face a nuclear war, but you’ve always been able to improvise. Study your surroundings, plan, prepare, and adjust tactics. The Organization is counting on you. Wield the husks for the cause.
New Features:
Explore new elements of the game, including Mortfield’s training facility for H.U.S.K.’s Operators and new anomalies that will appear across the open-world map. Venture into space-time and fight new types of enemies, solve new mysteries, and overcome new challenges. Board the nuclear icebreaker and make it your base of operations.
Rebuilding The Foundation:
After rebuilding everything from the ground up, we have addressed the feedback from our previous playtest by completely overhauling the 3Cs (Character, Camera, and Controls). New animations, a rewritten movement and interaction system, and an improved camera system deliver smooth, precise controls that make every action feel deliberate and immersive. Paired with a new advanced spatial audio system and refreshed world biomes and weather, this brings Phantom Line to a new level of first-person experience.
In the process, we hunted down a ton of bugs and resolved key pain points from our previous playtest, optimized the world environment, and improved networking for smoother gameplay. We are not finished yet; this is still a game in development, and we look forward to further optimizing the game as we approach launch.
Game Summary
Phantom Line is a co-op (1-4) shooter set in the post-nuclear European continent. Your mission is to search and contain anomalies – paranormal activity hidden from the public eye, in an open-world map full of dynamic events.
- The Operator – You are in an elite spec-op unit, working for Mortfield Industries, a megacorp that gave you a second chance. You‘ve been selected for the Operator Simulation Program called H.U.S.K., where you can transfer your consciousness between artificial bodies. Use husks in your tactics: scout, distract, decoy, or utilize many other strategies and commands to gain an advantage over anything in the way.
- Anomalies – Hidden from the public, our world is full of paranormal creatures and phenomena dubbed “anomalies.” Leaking into our world through rifts in the space-time fabric, these threats to humanity grow each day. Containing these extremely dangerous events requires the most elite Operators.
- Base Upgrades – A nuclear Icebreaker ship will be your base of operations. Customize your husk and cabin, showcase your weapons and armors to your friends, and modify your gear and body. Get briefed on the main deck before your next anomaly hunt.
- World – Nuclear war has just broken out, and you are sent to the disputed Iron Corridor – an Eastern European region torn by international tensions. Operators need to be self-sufficient should they become cut off. Improvise as necessary: use any resources available, gear up, and adjust your tactics to the situation on the ground. Hunt and cook the wild animals to maintain optimal health.
- Humanity Is At War – to fight the anomalous horror, you must turn into one yourself. Wield the husks for the cause. Augment your body with exotic elements found by containing anomalies. Become the ultimate anomaly hunter.
Now, go die again.
Have you had a chance to play Phantom Line before now? Is it odd that we are going to have to wait so long to get to play this new play test out there? What other horrors do you think the team is cooking up behind the scenes? Wouldn’t these missions always be easier if the higher-ups shared all of the information that is truly needed to succeed? Let’s discuss all of this down in the comment section. We now know that there will be more for Phantom Line, so make sure to keep on checking in here for all of those updates. As long as we don’t slip into another realm out there, we should have plenty to see and hear for the game. You are going to want to check the site and our social channels to see it all as it drops out there. No reason to miss out when it is truly that easy to keep up.
