Side Effects Will Be Coming To The Surface This Month

Side Effects — Release Date

The release date for the game called Side Effects is set, with these new Side Effects on the way in the coming weeks

With the way that the world is always changing when it comes to the medical practices, at least in the U.S., it feels about right that we would have a game to poke at all of that with Side Effects. A new title that Free Lives is helping to bring to market, which PC gamers will be able to play with very soon. As long as you are in the market for a “Buckshot Roulette”-like medical horror game with some very interesting visuals to help sell it all. That or to help you sell three other friends on playing Side Effects with you when it lands on November 21st. Something that could be a bit of a hard sell, I know, but we have a new look at the game to maybe make that pitch a little easier on your end.

Given how niche Side Effects is in terms of a game, it wouldn’t be weird if you did not know of it before now. It is a turn-based kind of game where all participants are offered different pills and medicines. They must choose one to take each round, with some helping, some harming, and some killing you instantly. All with the end goal of being the last one alive. Given that it looks like other things will happen between rounds in Side Effects, I am going on a limb to think the helping ones will keep you alive longer with all of the other medical procedures that will be going down. I could be wrong, though. That all could be tied to the single-player mode or the endless mode that will be available when the game launches, and those are just ways to make sure you are taking a pill each time. We only have a few more weeks to wait to find out.

Side Effects — Release Date

Free Lives has announced the release date for their “Buckshot Roulette”-like medical horror game, Side Effects! The turn-based pill roulette game for solo players or up to 4 people online is coming to Steam on 21st November!

Enter a twisted game of medical roulette where there can be only one survivor.

Welcome to Side Effects: a tense, turn-based medical roulette game. Each round, you’ll be presented with a selection of pills. Some are helpful, some are harmful, and some mean instant death. You never know what you’re about to consume or what it might do to your mind or body. Winning means outlasting – AKA, outliving – your opponent across the table.

Side Effects can be played in single-player or online with up to 4 players.

Resist

Every pill impacts your resistance. Manage it wisely: zero resistance means death.

Experiment

Between rounds, you can choose from a range of experimental items and treatments that can shift the odds in your favor, from vaccines to mouth clamps.

You’re not alone

The other patient wants to outlast you. They’ll bluff, adapt, and use everything at their disposal to keep breathing one dose longer than you.

Would you like to participate?

The full version of the game will include:

  • Single player mode
  • Free Healthcare (endless mode)
  • Multiplayer mode (2-4 players!)
  • 20+ unique items
  • 6 pill types to test

Have you seen or heard about Side Effects, the video game, before this new announcement? Is it odd to have a single-player mode in a game built to be a multiplayer experience? What do you think will be the cause of some of the other torture devices? How will we know which are the good meds and which are the bad ones? Let’s have all of that discussed in the comment section down the page. We are going to keep an eye out for more about Side Effects, and other games like it, so please keep an eye out on the site here for those updates. We might have some on our socials, too, so keep following along as best you can so you don’t miss out.
