The release date for I Hate This Place has been pushed, but we have a little more of the story coming with I Hate This Place
Not the best treat to have for Halloween here with a horror game, but it looks as if we are going to be waiting a bit longer to play I Hate This Place now. Not that it was supposed to be out for the spooky day, as it was set to release by Broken Mirror Games on November 7th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch. and PC. It looks like Rock Square Thunder is thinking differently on that, as they need more time to make sure that I Hate This Place is up to par for what gamers are demanding out there. That is why they have made the choice to push it out to January or 2026. Only a slight delay, but one to take note of since you will not be playing this one next week if you had any plans on that before now. It is a bit of a downer, sure, but one that I know will pay off for the game.
Even though there is a new delay for I Hate This Place, there is a nice little treat to come from it all. A new bit of the story and some new gameplay to look at for the game to see just how far they have gone with the development for now. Visually, it all looks the same, but we are getting some new locations and elements mixed in. Along with a bit that shows that we might not be in our right mind in the mix of I Hate This Place out there. That is something that was speculated on around here for a while now, and not just based on the graphic novel that all of this is spawning from. Only one of our team has read that, and the rest are in the dark, beyond what we have seen so far. No matter how it is sliced, it does look as if this one is going to be a fun and smash hit, as long as the team gets everything handled as they are looking to do with the extra few months of work they now have. Take a look at the new story bit and the game, as that might take the burn of the delay away just a little bit.
I Hate This Place β Story
π The Madness Takes Hold of Rutherford Ranch π
This new story trailer gives a quick taste of the twisted tale taking place on Rutherford Ranch.
As for the date change, while the game was originally planned for November 7th, 2025, Rock Square Thunder decided that they needed a little more time to better incorporate some changes and features gathered from community feedback. They feel the game deserves to make a good first impression, so they rethought things and set the new release window to January 2026.
Inspired by Skyboundβs Eisner award-nominated comic book series created by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, I Hate This Place plunges players deep into a supernatural world where the rules of reality come undone.
Were you expecting to be able to play I Hate This Place next week? Do you think it will be earlier in January that we get the game, or as late as possible to get the team extra time? Do you like where the story seems to be going with all of this? Have you read the graphic novel for this, and are you already spoiled on where the story could potentially go? Let’s have all of those thoughts in the comment section, and then discuss them all. As mentioned, we are all interested to see where I Hate This Place goes with all of this. So, we will have all that we can up on the site for the game, as well as all over our social media accounts out there. Please keep on watching for all of that out there, so you don’t miss out on a single update for the game. Hopefully, the next update will be the set-in-stone release date, and we can mark it officially on our lists.
