A new look at the Resident Evil history is out there to get us to the point where we can preorder Resident Evil Requiem
The road to get to Resident Evil Requiem has been a wild one, and we are talking mostly in the path that the IP has taken to get here after thirty years. We still have months until the game hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, but Capcom wants to make sure that we all have a chance to go down the memory lane of it all. To see where the Resident Evil story all started and, maybe, guess where it is all going to end with the ninth core game in the story. That and to make sure we are ready for February 27th, 2026, when the game launches out there. Which is why we have a new look at the IP from over the years, some announcements about the preorders available for the game, and how it will be hitting the Switch 2 a little harder to make sure all gamers out there will have the top-level horror that they are aiming for with this new title. Let us take that walk down the road.
Given that the Resident Evil IP has not been all that massive on the Switch as of yet, it is a little weird to hear how much more we are going to be getting on the platform here soon. Like the fact that the Switch 2 will be getting RE7 and RE8 ported over to the system on the same day that Requiem launches out there. Along with a new Pro Controller for the system and a new Amiibo coming in the Summer of next year. So much love to that console, as the rest get the option to pick up Resident Evil Requiem right now in preorder in the form of a standard and a deluxe edition of the game. An edition that will bring you all a few more cosmetics and charms to start the game out with, but nothing that truly adds much to the overall experience for the inflated price. Maybe we will hear about a bigger collector’s edition as we get closer to the launch out there, but for now, this is all we have, and it looks like they are focusing on it when I look at it.

Will you be continuing your Resident Evil journey on the Switch 2, or will you be heading back to the platforms you have played most of the games on already? Will we see a massive collector’s edition in the future, or is it no longer going to be worth the effort to do those for fans anymore? Why do you think the Switch 2 is getting all of the love here, and only a smaller focus on the PC version coming to another vendor for those who so wish? Let us have those thoughts down in the comments, and then feel free to discuss them all as you so wish to do out there. We are going to have more for Resident Evil Requiem, obviously, and when it all shambles out there, we will share it here. Please keep coming back here to see and hear about all of it as it does. It is going to be one fun ride, no matter where you are picking the game up out there.
