More is bouncing out there for Mouse: P.I. For Hire, even though we all still have to wait until March 19th, 2026, to play the game. Not that I am complaining, but for a game that Fumi Games originally had on the slate for 2025 to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC, it is a little odd to get so much thrown our way. Especially as we are back with a look at Mouse: P.I. For Hire that dives deep into how the game came to life and has been crafted up to now. A Deep Dive Documentary is here from the team to take us all behind the scenes for the game to see how much extra work went into making the game look, feel, and sound like something our grandparents might have witnessed back when they were kids. Time is a weird thing, and we can only use that description for so much longer out there…

There is a whole lot to focus on in this new deep dive for Mouse: P.I. For Hire, with a large focus on how the world and characters were brought to life. Like the fact that they are all still hand-drawn and needed to be done from various angles to help keep the 2D feel in the 3D world with the rubber hose animation. Then you add in the blending that would be needed to see all of the characters from the different angles, and that is a massive undertaking. Not to mention the massive world and biomes that we will be making our way through as we gather clues and baseball cards along the way. All to build further into the fun and other aspects of the game, and keep our Mouse Detective still moving forward with the case. That and driving the various streets and keeping the cartoony feel to the world with the various weapons and attacks that can go down against the enemies out there, and the crooked cops that are running the streets. Have a look at it all just down the page, and get fully up to speed on what has gone into making this game out there. It certainly looks like it is going to be worth the effort.

Were you expecting all of this to bring this Mouse to life, or did you think it was something as basic as the cell shading other games use instead? Will it be harder to navigate the world without any colors to push us forward, or will the lighting effects they are using be more than enough to get us all along? Will this end up being too much work for little payoff, or will it all pay off with the artists being able to make the game they have been looking to make instead? Fire off all of those thoughts down in the comments, and then feel free to discuss them all as you so wish. We are going to keep following along with Mouse: P.I. For Hire, so please keep on following along with us for the game too. You can do that with the website or our social channels out there. I am sure there is still much more to get excited about as we head into the new year.
